apple itouch magicpad

Say goodbye to your normal mouse, because here is Apple's Magic Trackpad. It measures about 5.2 square inches and most interestingly, if you own an Apple Wireless Keyboard, this Trackpad matches right up with it as if they were meant to be side by side. Similar to the touch pad of the iPad or the iPhone in both response and function, you can zoom in and out with a pinch or expansion of two fingers. You can also swipe three fingers left or right to go either back or forward in your Safari browsing history. And unlike a mouse the entire pad is responsive not just a certain area. You can click bottom, top, left, or right and you will be on your way.

Of course you can only use this with Apple computers (it's only competitive advantage right?), but for those PC users out there it just isn't fair! In terms of price the Trackpad would deplete your bank account at $70 plus tax. So it is somewhat of a heavy investment but most of Apple's products are anyways, so nothing new there.

The bottom line is, for some, this device will be very hard to get used to. Especially those working in the art industry that use Photoshop to make precise lines and such, this is probably not for them. Perhaps the only benefit for this device, just being honest, is it's style. I mean really, who wouldn't want this as their mouse? If you have a couple weeks to get used to it, then get it. But if you are expecting to buy it with your new computer and be good to go, you may want to hold off - but then again learning something new is what makes it fun!
