We’re mere minutes away from the official announcement of the next iPhone, and we still have information coming in. It appears that Apple’s Japanese site has leaked info about the launch of the iPhone 4S on October 14. When the leaks come from Apple’s own website, that’s about as big a confirmation as you can get.
Of course this not only says that October 14 is the likely launch date in the US as well, but it also describes the iPhone 4S – not the iPhone 5. Unless we are seeing two iPhones today (we probably aren’t), or the crazy rumor about Sprint getting the iPhone 5 exclusively are true (they almost certainly aren’t) it looks like the iPhone 4S is going to be the name of the next iPhone.
Anticipation is building at Apple’s headquarters in Cupertino, and we should be hearing more about the fabled 4S in the next hour. Stay tuned to Geek for all of the latest updates as they unfold.
Updating… We should have confirmation soon.
