swype for android

There have been a lot of questions regarding the many Android keyboards available in the market and most of them are concerning which of it is the best for me. There is the Android standard keyboard, the new Swype keyboard, and also the multi touch keyboard released by Motorola on the Droid X. So how do they stack up and which is the best for you?
For something that is known as the Android standard keyboard, there is nothing standard about it. In fact, it is rather nice piece of software to go along with your smart phone. The latest version has a voice input feature which greatly amplifies the keyboard. Even on its own, it is still a magnificent piece of equipment. It is very responsive, and there are almost zero problems when in use. Even if your device doesn't offer you a choice of any of the other keyboards, you still are not missing out much as this is a solid contender.
It is pre-installed and configured which is always nice, and is amazingly to use. The slight disappointment to this standard keyboard is that it is not very clever when it comes to symbols and special characters. Just to press the "alt" button in the keyboard will somehow stop the whole flow and this is quite prominent when writing long messages. Another slight downfall is its poor word prediction although this is improved upon on HTC Sense equipped devices.
Meanwhile, Swype is very hard not to like. It is fast, new, and simply just too cool not to use it. In fact, almost all users seem to love this keyboard. You might need to spend a small amount of time to get used to it but once you do, you simply cannot let it get away from your hands. It has a really amazing "wow" factor. You essentially trace a line over the letters you want and they magically appear. Again, you might have to take some time to really get used to the idea of not being able to see the keys under your thumbs.
Being a better keyboard, it has a fast text entry, a unique way of displaying predicted words, the ability to insert words, and many more. The only minor complaint about the product would be the time needed to truly master the learning curve. At the moment, it is still not being able to be purchased in the market as it is still in a beta status.
The newcomer to the keyboard field is the new multi touch keyboard released by Motorola on the Droid X. As of now, it is exclusively on the Droid X but developers have already ported it to other devices like the Droid Incredible and others. This keyboard is much like the strong standard keyboard but improves on a problem you encounter when you start to really type fast on a touch keyboard.
As your typing speed increases, you will tend to be touching two letters at the same time. This is a problem for a standard keyboard as it will get confused as to the order of letters you are intending to input. The multi touch keyboard adds multi touch support so you can hold down one letter and keep typing and it will work just fine. Motorola has done a great job with this but we have to say that the predictive text just wasn't as polished as the standard keyboard or even Swype. We suspect that this will improve as updates are released.
When it comes to choosing which Android keyboard to use, the end result will be yours to make. Hopefully you have a device that supports all three so you can try them all to decide which is best for your style.

Angry Birds Game Release To Android

The very much anticipated release of Angry Birds to the Android market had finally arrived; and the popularity of the game was under estimated by it's creator Rovio. Upon release date it brought the companies site to a halt due to the large demand for the game from Android users. GetJar collaborated with Rovio to be the first official download site for the game, and even they had some major issues supplying the high demand. To the point that they recommended downloaders to go to their mobile site to download the game so to save some bandwidth from their main site.
There are two main reasons why this release was such a big deal. First, obviously because the game is the most successful and most popular game in the iPhone market; it sold more than seven million copies and has held it's position for quite some time. Secondly, and what some might not have realized is that this new release for the Android is being offered for free because the game is supported by ads rather consumer sales. Rovio does plan on releasing a no-ads paid version to the market for those that rather fork out the cash than deal with the annoying ads, but it is not yet currently available.
In an interview with Peter from Rovio he remarked that the game is being played over 65 million minutes per day and that's just with the iPhone version and now with it being available for the Android he predicts that it will rise to over 100 million minutes per day. Not even mentioning or thinking about the releases for other platforms such as the PC, blackberry, etc.
The release of the game has shown the strength of the Android community, and it's numbers are growing quickly. In my opinion it will eventually surpass the iPhone population. It is about time the iPhone has a legitimate competitor and with Google as it's locomotive there is likely no end to its track. Google is an ambitious company and is constantly venturing into new markets. They afford great quality work and always open source to allow for faster growth and opportunities for developers and even non developers to have fun and sometimes even create some small income for those dedicated. Right now the main problem i see with Android is the lack of rules in the development of programs and the leniency for accepting those programs. Many programs currently on the market are buggy and can cause your phone to malfunction, but i am sure that soon these programs will be eliminated by better programs produced by better developers.
Anyhow, back to the game, keep a lookout for new platform releases for all of your computing and entertainment devices.

Expected Features of the Apple iPhone 5 Mobile Phone

People go gaga whenever a new iPhone is expected to be released. Rumors that the iPhone 5 will be released on October 2011 has gotten Apple fans into a frenzy once again, with people from all over the world eagerly anticipating what Apple has in store for consumers this time around. This article takes a look at some of the features fans are expecting to see in the Apple iPhone 5, arguably the most anticipated mobile phone release this year.
The expected features of the phone include:
  • The design. The Apple iPhone 5 is expected to have a radically different design compared to its predecessors. Said to have a teardrop design, the phone is expected to have a slimmer and lighter build compared to older iPhones. Furthermore, the iPhone 5 is said to have an aluminum plate casing and not glass like its predecessors.
  • The hardware and software. The Apple iPhone 5 is expected to carry a new operating system (iOS 5) and a more powerful processor (1 GHz dual-core processor), the same processor used in the iPad 2. These make for a faster, more powerful iPhone, including having 4G network capability.
The battery of the iPhone 5 is also expected to be more powerful compared to the iPhone 4, with the talk time pegged at 14 hours maximum. The memory of the phone has been upgraded also, both in terms of RAM (pegged at 1 GB) and storage (pegged at 64 GB).
In terms of software, the iPhone 5 is said to introduce at least two new features: the iCloud allows users to sync their smartphone with iTunes wirelessly, while the Face Recognition software adds to the privacy and security features of the iPhone by confirming the identity of the user before allowing him or her to use the phone itself.
  • The visuals. The camera is expected to receive a massive upgrade. Not only will it support HD video recording at 1080p, it is also said to have a built-in flash feature to allow you to take even better features than before. Furthermore, the camera is said to take photos up to 8 MP in resolution. There are also rumors that the iPhone 5 will be able to take 3D photos as well. The improvements in terms of visuals aren't just limited to the camera. The iPhone 5 is expected to have a larger screen (about 5 inches diagonally) and better screen resolution.
  • The cost. In spite of the upgrades the iPhone 5 is expected to have, it is said to have the same price as the iPhone 4G, which means that buyers can get massive savings even as they get to enjoy the new features of the phone. Rumors are also floating around that a low-cost version will be released to make the iPhone 5 easier to reach.
Do note that these expected features are not endorsed by Apple, but are instead speculated by both fans and experts alike, given the past smartphone releases of the company. As such, some of the things listed above may not be seen on the actual model. Have no fear though; as the expected release date of the Apple iPhone 5 draws nearer, more information about the smartphone will be given by the company so you will know what to expect from this iPhone model.

The Apple iPhone 3GS Takes Mobile Phones Into A New Dimension

Apple has done it again with the Apple iPhone 3GS. The company has constantly delivered when it comes to consumer electronics and Apple has yet to disappoint with its latest outings of laptops, tablets, and iPods.
The iPhone 3GS is a one of a kind innovation that gives you mixed feelings. Although there is plenty to like, there are things that will also disappoint. To start things off you will hear about the bad news and end with the good news.
Apple has been consistent with its releases but the iPhone 3GS lacks some of the pizzazz that the other Apple products have generated. Sure there are high-tech features that can change the way you experience your mobile device but somehow there is something lacking with its plastic feel and configurations. For the new Apple user, navigating the screen and the different icons will become tedious and would take some time to get used to.
The 3GS has a lot of things in common with a lot of other smart phones that are currently available on the market. Apple only has the vibe of exclusivity that other phones can only dream of imagining. Others have caught up with the technological advancements of the 3GS. There is very little different among the current array of mobile devices that are out on the market now.
Enough of the bad news here are the good things that you will find on the iPhone 3GS.
The 3GS has GPS assistance that can help you get through traffic or if you are lost in the middle of an unfamiliar street or country. The digital compass will assist you whenever you need directions. The 3GS also has a 8 GB flash drive to store your music and files in. The phone has the capability to display different kinds of languages and characters at the same time. The adaptability of the language display will give foreign nationals the chance to use their iPhones in their home tongue.
The 3-megapixel camera delivers superb resolution when you take pictures and shoot videos. It has an auto-focus function that allows you to zoom in and capture a priceless moment. You can record a video of up to thirty frames per second with the iPhones camera.
The touchscreen allows for ease of use and the phone has a finger print resistant oleophobic coat to prevent damage to the touchscreen capability of the phone. You can browse your favorite sites and watch your favorite videos on the iPhone 3GS.
You can also view different kinds of files on your 3GS. You can view power point files, rich text files, PDf files, Microsoft documents, and different kinds of images. You can also enjoy your favorite tunes because of the high tech audio features.
There is plenty to like about the 3GS but due to the fast paced development of the mobile device industry, it is better to wait for other models that offer better features. But if you are itching for an iPhone fix then you can buy this phone at an affordable price.

Why Is the Demand For iPhone Application Developers Increasing?

The iPhone, designed and developed by Apple Inc, is a huge success in the Smartphone market. As more and more businesses realize the value of gaining customers with the help of attractive mobile apps, the demand for iPhone application developers is rising as well. iPhone application development is in such high demand because iPhones are capable of supporting a large number and varied type of mobile apps.
The Success of iPhones
The increased demand for iPhone applications is directly attributable to the success of iPhones. If you check the Apps Store, you'll see that the number of iPhone applications available have crossed into the millions, beginning from just a few hundred. iPhone users all over the world download applications from this online store.
Benefits of iPhone App Development
iPhone app development services are now engaged by both small and big companies. This is because of the fact that third party applications are easily supported by the phone, making it one of the most popular brands among phone users who want the world in their hands. The iPhone uses advanced technology that is user-friendly and faster to use, with a number of benefits that were offered for the first time by any mobile phone, such as the facility to download applications directly to the handset.
What Can an iPhone Application Developer Do?
There is an increase in the demand for mobile application developers as businesses do not want to let go of the opportunity to tap the iPhone consumer base and reach out with their sales message. An iPhone application developer understands how an iPhone app can be made, keeping in mind the user's needs as well as the client's budget. A developer who is experienced and has a complete knowledge of the technology is in a better position to develop successful applications for iPhones.
Cost Factor
Thus, the demand for iPhones has actually given a boost to the application development marketplace and has resulted in more jobs for app developers. The reduced price for iPhones and attractive discount offers has lured more and more people to buy the phones for personal as well as business use. As iPhones have become cost-effective, iPhone application development has too, resulting in greater demand for the developers.
Attractive Features
With 3G and 4G spectrums being used by telecommunications companies around the world, using iPhones for business purposes has gained popularity. The easily customizable features of the iPhone have also led to more and more iPhone app developers playing around with its features. Also the ability to play interesting games, including 3D variations, make it the most sought after phone and its app developers the most sought after programmers.
