iphone nano

The tech news sphere was set alight earlier on this week after rumours surfaced from the business paper, Bloomberg BusinessWeek that Apple could be working on creating an iPhone 'nano' in an attempt to capture the lucrative budget mobile phone sector. The paper claims that after years of speculation, Apple is still working on a budget version of its flagship consumer device.
A source from the publication stated its source came from 'people who had been briefed on the plans' and that at least one other source had seen a working prototype that was at least a third smaller than the current iPhone 4 and uses existing components from the current generation to cut on production costs whilst the more pricey premium components are held back for its yet to be launched iPhone 5.
Further interest into the 'nano' iPhone was raised after the Wall Street Journal backed up the previous claims of a budget offering being lined up from Apple. Also rumoured was a revamp of its MobileMe service due to flagging sales and low subscription numbers, with a possibility of announcing that the service will be free to iPhone users and will be changed from a synchronised offering of mail, contacts and calendar to a digital content platform where users could back data up to. It could also include the long rumoured streaming service for iTunes after Apple's acquisition of the streaming based website Lala.
Unfortunately this news, whilst backed up by 'sources' can't be taken as confirmation, as throughout the iPhone's history there have been constant rumours of a smaller budget model mobile phone offering from Apple throughout the years.
The rumoured sources also leaked information that Apple might intend to make the forthcoming iPhone 5 a 'world phone' by including GSM and CDMA technology, as it had to launch a CDMA iPhone 4 variant in its home market to please American consumers. A teardown of the CDMA device found that the technologies and hardware were in place for a 'world phone' version, but the lack of a SIM card slot was the only thing from stopping the company from launching it, preferring to release two separate devices.
The iPhone 'Nano' will also have competition from the newly released, and formerly Palm, HP Veer smartphone. Launched at the beginning of February, the Veer is an evolution of Palm's Pre line of phones, with models being offered in small, medium, and large sizes. The Veer being the smallest, the Pre3 being the medium sized device and a new web OS powered tablet, the TouchPad, completing the large offering.
Only time shall tell whether these rumours prove to be true as having a budget device in a manufacture's line up can prove to be a killer option as seen with HTC's Wildfire handset which provides premium looks at an affordable price.
It would allow networks to offer the phone on competitively priced pay as you go plans that cater to the consumer's needs.

Android's Market Share In U.s. Was 40% In June

The international market research firm said the market share of Google Android platform in June in the U.S. increased from 38 percent in May to 40%. Apple iOS's market share was 26.6%, ranking the second.

Google Android operating system may face many legal proceedings, but its market share still ranked the highest in the U.S. It is estimated that by the end of June in 2011, the U.S. smart phone users are 78.5 million, a growth of 8%.
In the June of this year, 30,000 mobile phone users are investigated. The survey shows that benefit from the sales of a large number of operators and hundreds of Android phones in the market, Android's share in June increased from 38% in May to 40%. Apple iOS ranked the second place with a market share of 26.6%.

A few days ago, Analysys said Android accounts for 48 percent of the global market share. Apple iOS's global share is 19%. After Samsung Verizon Wireless, AT & T and Sprint carriers released Galaxy S II Mobile in this summer, the battle between Android and iPhone will open a new chapter. The sales of Samsung's new mobile phone exceeded five million units in less than 90 days.

It is expected that Apple will launch iPhone 5 in the September or October. iPhone 5 will configure a faster processor, new body design, running iOS 5. Analysys said that iPhone 5 will help Apple to strengthen its strong position in the second half of 2011.

In the June, RIM BlackBerry platform continued to decline, from 24.7% in May fell to 23.4%. The phone companies want to boost its share of smart phones by the release of new Blackberry 7 OS platform in the end of this month. The new products include an upgraded BlackBerry Torch and the Bold.

The market share of Microsoft's Windows Mobile operating system is 5.8%. Analysts predicted that Microsoft's smart phone shipments in the second quarter will be less than 1.5 million. Its global market share is only 1%. Microsoft believes that once Mango smart phones go to the market this fall, it will soon change the status quo.

The market share of Google Android in major countries of Europe and America is more than 50%. Google's market share in the United States, Australia and major European countries reached 50.6%. Although Apple's iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS are only sold, but its share in Europe is still more than 25%.

Expected Features of the Apple iPhone 5 Mobile Phone

People go gaga whenever a new iPhone is expected to be released. Rumors that the iPhone 5 will be released on October 2011 has gotten Apple fans into a frenzy once again, with people from all over the world eagerly anticipating what Apple has in store for consumers this time around. This article takes a look at some of the features fans are expecting to see in the Apple iPhone 5, arguably the most anticipated mobile phone release this year.
The expected features of the phone include:
  • The design. The Apple iPhone 5 is expected to have a radically different design compared to its predecessors. Said to have a teardrop design, the phone is expected to have a slimmer and lighter build compared to older iPhones. Furthermore, the iPhone 5 is said to have an aluminum plate casing and not glass like its predecessors.
  • The hardware and software. The Apple iPhone 5 is expected to carry a new operating system (iOS 5) and a more powerful processor (1 GHz dual-core processor), the same processor used in the iPad 2. These make for a faster, more powerful iPhone, including having 4G network capability.
The battery of the iPhone 5 is also expected to be more powerful compared to the iPhone 4, with the talk time pegged at 14 hours maximum. The memory of the phone has been upgraded also, both in terms of RAM (pegged at 1 GB) and storage (pegged at 64 GB).
In terms of software, the iPhone 5 is said to introduce at least two new features: the iCloud allows users to sync their smartphone with iTunes wirelessly, while the Face Recognition software adds to the privacy and security features of the iPhone by confirming the identity of the user before allowing him or her to use the phone itself.
  • The visuals. The camera is expected to receive a massive upgrade. Not only will it support HD video recording at 1080p, it is also said to have a built-in flash feature to allow you to take even better features than before. Furthermore, the camera is said to take photos up to 8 MP in resolution. There are also rumors that the iPhone 5 will be able to take 3D photos as well. The improvements in terms of visuals aren't just limited to the camera. The iPhone 5 is expected to have a larger screen (about 5 inches diagonally) and better screen resolution.
  • The cost. In spite of the upgrades the iPhone 5 is expected to have, it is said to have the same price as the iPhone 4G, which means that buyers can get massive savings even as they get to enjoy the new features of the phone. Rumors are also floating around that a low-cost version will be released to make the iPhone 5 easier to reach.
Do note that these expected features are not endorsed by Apple, but are instead speculated by both fans and experts alike, given the past smartphone releases of the company. As such, some of the things listed above may not be seen on the actual model. Have no fear though; as the expected release date of the Apple iPhone 5 draws nearer, more information about the smartphone will be given by the company so you will know what to expect from this iPhone model.

The Apple iPhone 3GS Takes Mobile Phones Into A New Dimension

Apple has done it again with the Apple iPhone 3GS. The company has constantly delivered when it comes to consumer electronics and Apple has yet to disappoint with its latest outings of laptops, tablets, and iPods.
The iPhone 3GS is a one of a kind innovation that gives you mixed feelings. Although there is plenty to like, there are things that will also disappoint. To start things off you will hear about the bad news and end with the good news.
Apple has been consistent with its releases but the iPhone 3GS lacks some of the pizzazz that the other Apple products have generated. Sure there are high-tech features that can change the way you experience your mobile device but somehow there is something lacking with its plastic feel and configurations. For the new Apple user, navigating the screen and the different icons will become tedious and would take some time to get used to.
The 3GS has a lot of things in common with a lot of other smart phones that are currently available on the market. Apple only has the vibe of exclusivity that other phones can only dream of imagining. Others have caught up with the technological advancements of the 3GS. There is very little different among the current array of mobile devices that are out on the market now.
Enough of the bad news here are the good things that you will find on the iPhone 3GS.
The 3GS has GPS assistance that can help you get through traffic or if you are lost in the middle of an unfamiliar street or country. The digital compass will assist you whenever you need directions. The 3GS also has a 8 GB flash drive to store your music and files in. The phone has the capability to display different kinds of languages and characters at the same time. The adaptability of the language display will give foreign nationals the chance to use their iPhones in their home tongue.
The 3-megapixel camera delivers superb resolution when you take pictures and shoot videos. It has an auto-focus function that allows you to zoom in and capture a priceless moment. You can record a video of up to thirty frames per second with the iPhones camera.
The touchscreen allows for ease of use and the phone has a finger print resistant oleophobic coat to prevent damage to the touchscreen capability of the phone. You can browse your favorite sites and watch your favorite videos on the iPhone 3GS.
You can also view different kinds of files on your 3GS. You can view power point files, rich text files, PDf files, Microsoft documents, and different kinds of images. You can also enjoy your favorite tunes because of the high tech audio features.
There is plenty to like about the 3GS but due to the fast paced development of the mobile device industry, it is better to wait for other models that offer better features. But if you are itching for an iPhone fix then you can buy this phone at an affordable price.

Optimizing the Utility of iPhone Applications for Mobile Commerce

Nowadays mobile commerce has evolved a bit more and cannot be just termed as another simple form of iPhone application. For a broader strategy on mobile commerce the web site and iPhone application are the two major and vital elements. If you want to optimize and release the true potential of your online business then these two elements still prove insufficient to tap the whole market. One needs to avail the services of adept professionals to optimize the utility of the mobile platform.
The mobile has created a market that can be accessed 24/7 all through the year. The mobile is no more a luxury but a need that helps the people to interact, connect, influence and inform. Mobile phones have proved to be the best channel to directly connect to the customers, clients, prospective customers or prospective clients.
One needs to understand and recognize the strengths of the mobile when using it for commerce. Mobile can work as complementary with other channels. Most of the mobile commerce is usually restricted to the periphery and premises of the mobile device. It is usually a standalone function and this sort of situation can have harmful effect on the business mainly because it is not synchronous with other channels.
If an iPhone application exhibits the details and price of the product but does not show how to buy the product or service or does not offer any scope of putting up questions, then this application is hardly of any utility.
Releasing the Potential of the Mobile
Some of the strategies to release the potential of the mobile are as follows
Services that are on the basis of location
Applications that help to locate the nearest store having the products needed by the application user, can work wonders for the business.
Mobile Barcodes
With the help of mobile barcodes the in-store initiatives and the mobile can be integrated to make the customer buy things from the shopping mall. Application can be developed to decode the barcode through the mobile camera and provide the application user with reliable and instantaneous information.
Multiple channel connection
If properly used the mobile can be the first point of access with a prospective client or customers. The details of this can be then transferred to other channels to be handled more effectively.
Shopping Applications
The applications can convert the mobile device in to a sort of salesperson. This is only possible if the application allows the checking of availability of the product that the customer wants. The application should allow the comparison of the prices quoted by other retailers and provide product information that is reliable.
Closing the Deal
As far as transactions are concerned, it has been found that the mobile is quite slow at it. So it is better to collect the data through the mobile and execute the transaction through other channel that is quicker.

In 2005 it was purchased by Google Inc., which consulted on and aided in its development and release. The Android SDK is the component that provides the libraries and tools that are necessary for development of applications that run on devices powered by Android
There are Google Android APIs and add-ons to extend the capabilities of Android SDK that will give the applications within your smart phone access to Google libraries. Other useful applications available for the Android through Google is Latitude which allows you to see the location of your friends on the map feature. Goggles is a cool application that allows the user to use pictures to search the web. Being an overall operating system, the Android also has the useful applications of Google maps, which allows the user to search for local businesses, drive with directions and get navigational directions so that you are never lost. Everyone's favorite You Tube is also available to keep you entertained with videos to upload to DVD's. Google Voice allows you to listen to your voicemail, call internationally for substantially lower rates than other venues and send free SMS to your contacts. One feature that is only available through the Android system is Buzz, which allows you to see what's going on around you and tags the posts according to your location.
Applications that are common to other smart phones are also available through Google Android. One is Google talk, which allows you to instantly message friends and family. Google Calendar is a calendar which gives you the capability to synch directly with your computer. Google Contacts is another and also synchronizes with your computer. Google finance gives you real-time quotes and news. Google Earth will allow you to explore the world from the convenience of your smart phone. Google Blogger allows you to publish and upload blog posts all from your phone and Google translate which allows you to translate text in more than 50 languages and speech in 15 languages.
Google Android is making your smart phone so much more than just a phone. This system is allowing you to do things on your phone that were once only possible on a computer. It is making the phone indispensable and giving some really amazing capabilities.

The HTC Sensation or the Apple iPhone 4S

Mobile technology is ever evolving. Sadly, with all the cutting edge smartphones offered by various manufacturers, it is easy to get lost in the confusion. In the market, there are two platforms that reign supreme. These are handsets made by Apple and phones made by Android manufacturers. Let's compare the iOS-powered iPhone 4S and the HTC Sensation to help you device which phone suits you.
When it comes to software, both sides will claim to be the best. Apple's smartphone comes pre-installed with the latest version of the iOS. This is the iOS 5. This new iteration of the Apple mobile OS offers a number of new features such as iMessage, the Cards app, Twitter integration, and so much more. It also comes with an app exclusive to the phone. This is the personal assistant Siri.
HTC's former flagship is pre-installed with the Android OS version 2.3. This is the smartphone-optimized Gingerbread OS. This is a previous version of Google's mobile operating system. However, Google has officially launched the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This is set to unify both the smartphone-optimized Gingerbread with the tablet-optimized Honeycomb. The Taiwanese phone giant has promised to issue an update for its latest smartphones soon.
When it comes to hardware, the iPhone 4S comes with an 8 megapixel camera that records videos in 1080p. The HTC Sensation comes with a similar camera. The both come packed with dual-core processors under the hood. The iOS-powered smartphone comes packed with a 1 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512 MB of RAM under the hood. HTC's former flagship comes packed with a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor coupled with 768 MB of RAM under the hood. When it comes to performance, HTC's smartphones clearly has an advantage over Apple's flagship.
If you're looking for real estate, the HTC Sensation also has an advantage over the iPhone 4S. HTC's handset sports a 4.3 inch S-LCD capacitive touch screen. This is larger compared to 4S's 3.5 inch display. Although Apple's phone offers more resolution (640 x 960 pixels) due to its Retina Display, the Taiwanese phone manufacturer's phone offers resolution (540 x 960 pixels) not too far behind from the iOS-powered handset.
Both phones come with their own pros and cons. All the information found here will help you determine which smartphone is more for you. Will it be the iPhone 4S? Will it be the HTC Sensation? It's up to you to decide.
