Apple iPhone 4S 16GB - An Upgraded Handset That Confirms Apple's Dominance!

With the launch of Apple iPhone 4S 16GB, the long wait for the next version of iPhone has finally ended. The handset that has been announced and released last month is an upgraded version of iPhone 4. The smartphone makes a number of improvements over its predecessor and comes with so many impressive features.
The release of the new handset did cause some disappoint initially among Apple aficionados. This was because of the fact that the company has come out with the new handset after almost one and a half year. The expectations from the company were high as the fans expected something new and path breaking. Therefore, by coming out with merely an upgraded phone, the Apple could not prevent slight disappointment among its fan base.
However, everything said and done, Apple iPhone 4S 16GB remains the best smartphone in the market. This is because of the fact that even without coming out with anything new, the handset remains the most advanced smartphone and technologically ahead of most other smartphones available in the market. Let's take a brief look on all those features where the new handset has upgraded.
The new device is powered by the dual-core processor that besides making the phone faster and speedier, brings it at par with other dual-core smartphones. This upgrade was expected from the company as most of the high-end smartphones are powered by the dual-core processors these days.
The new device has an impressive 8 mega pixel camera that once again is an expected and a worthy upgrade. Though, the 5 mega pixel camera didn't disappoint, the latest camera makes clicking photographs a great experience. The video recording experience is also much more improved.
Apple iPhone 4S runs the latest iOS 5 operating system. It's the first Apple device to run on the latest OS that was first released by the company at WWDC in June this year. In addition to these, the handset comes with come new additions such iCloud and Siri that promises to make the whole experience of using the device much more pleasurable.
However, the device doesn't make many changes when it comes to the external design. The device looks almost identical to its predecessor as far as the looks are concerned. The screen and the display also remain unchanged. Overall, the device remains the best smartphone in the market and is a perfect choice, provided you can afford it.

How to: Install and Run Android OS on Windows XP or Windows 7 (32 Bit Editions)

Android is an amazing Operating System for mobile devices especially smartphones but we all also know that Android is built on Linux platform and we have been installing and using Linux on our PCs for ages. Android is no different; Although it has been specifically developed for smartphones, a little trick can easily be applied to install and run Android on PCs running the Windows Operating System (Windows XP or Windows 7). Now you might ask why would one want to do so. There may be many possible reasons. Here are a few of them.
  1. You want to test your newly developed Android application and are looking for a testing platform.
  2. You want to visually feel the Android OS before buying and Android based smartphone for yourself or for your family or friends.
Here is what the developers of the Android x86 project for PC had to say.
This is a project to port Android open source project to x86 platform, formerly known as "patch hosting for android x86 support". The original plan is to host different patches for android x86 support from open source community. A few months after we created the project, we found out that we could do much more than just hosting patches. So we decide to create our code base to provide support on different x86 platforms, and set up a git server to host it.
Requirements
To Install Android OS on your Windows 32-Bit System, You'll need the following tools.
  1. Android 2.2 x86 Generic ISO (82.4 MB) -
  2. MobaLiveCD Software (1564 KB) - http;//mobalivecd.mobatek,net/en/
MobaLiveCD is a freeware that will run your Linux LiveCD on Windows thanks to the excellent emulator called "Qemu".
MobaLiveCD allows you to test your LiveCD with a single click: after downloading the ISO image file of your favorite LiveCD, you just have to start it in MobaLiveCD and here you are, without the need to burn a CD-Rom or to reboot your computer.
Installation Procedure
  1. Step 1: After downloading the Android 2.2 generic ISO and installing the MobaLiveCD tool, open the MobaLiveCD and click on the "Run Live CD" button.
  2. Step 2:Then select the ISO image that you downloaded. Do not forget to choose "Yes" when asked to create a hard disk image.
  3. Step 1: In the android Boot Menu that opens up, choose "Live CD - Run android-x86 without installation".
  4. Enjoy testing Android on Windows.

Android Spy Apps and Monitoring Software: How to Monitor Android Calls, Texts, Emails and More

Last year Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, claimed that "Privacy is dead." For owners of Android cell phones or other mobile technologies, that statement might not be as silly as it sounds. With access to a phone and about five minutes, anyone can implant an Android spy application, or "app," that provides complete access to everything the device's owner says on every phone call, every text or email written, and every place he or she goes.
It may seem like a crazy "conspiracy theory" story, but it's true. Android spy software is available on the open market and can provide total, constant monitoring of any device on which it is installed. No longer simply for government agents or restricted to secret spy games, these apps make it possible for suspicious spouses to monitor their partner's every word, or for concerned parents to keep very close tabs on their child's activities and movements. On a potentially frightening note, these apps also make it much easier for stalkers to monitor their target's movements - with just five minutes of access to that cellular device, a potential stalker can and will know everything about the victim and their movements.
Voice phone calls are recorded and uploaded to the software website for later listening, regardless of whether the call was dialed or incoming. A complete list of all phone numbers dialed or which dialed into the phone is available to the purchaser as is a copy of every SMS or text message, every instant message, and every email. What's more, the device's microphone can be used to record live-time conversations even when the phone is not being used. The conversations are again uploaded to the website and can be retrieved by interested parties for later listening.
GPS technology tracks the location of the device by satellite if the device owner is in view of the sky. If not, the software tracks the owner by pinpointing the cell tower being used, or by the IP number of the WiFi network. The information is then accessed from any personal computer simply by navigating to the software's website.
Android spy software applications and others like, may well prove Mark Zuckerberg right.

iPhone 4G Vs Android Phones, Review and Comparison

Apple iPhone 4G is currently the hottest topic in town. Inheriting the success of its previous generations, iPhone 4G hits the market with its newly developed operating system - Apple iOS4. Together with Apple A4 1GHz (which is the same CPU that iPad shares) it allows the phone to run nonstop for over 10 hours or even in sleep mood for over a month. Looking as stylish as always, iPhone 4G again features Apple's minimal design, appearing to be so slim & chic. Its 3.5 inch display supports Retina Multi-touch - another new gadget offered by Apple to facilitate daily use. It also comes with a resolution of 640 x 960 pixels and such resolution display will definitely beat all other smart phones down.
HTC would definitely like to beat Apple iPhone 4G with its latest, strongest smartphone HTC EVO 4G. The phone comes with a 4.3 inch screen which is bigger than the iPhones series; yet its TFT capacitive Mulit-touch screen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels only. The phone also supports no internal storage; an 8GB memory card is included though. What makes HTC EVO 4G standing out the most may be its 1.3MP front camera which other smart phones are lacking of. If you need a smartphone with a fair camera, let HTC EVO 4G be your choice.
Motorola Droid was promoted as an "iPhone alternative" in 2009 year end but can its successor Droid X beat iPhone 4G in 2010? Droid X composes of the best hardware currently available. iPhone 4G can support a limited number of multi-tasks, but Droid X can settle a lot more when it comes to multi-tasking. It's the Texas Instruments OMAP 3630 1GHz CPU that allows it to run twice faster than the other smart phones, so that web pages can be loaded in less than 5 seconds. Though Droid X has only 8GB of internal storage, it supports 32GB Micro SD card, which together make a massive storage capacity of 40GB. Powered by Android 2.1 Eclair with the MotoBLUR UI and Swype and will soon get an update to Android 2.2 Froyo. Droid X is surely the ultimate Android phone.
It's no doubt that smart phones are getting increasingly popular. Market growth is remarkable which attracts new players like Samsung to take part in. The Samsung Galaxy S is the flagship Samsung Android device. Supported by Samsung-Intrinsity S5PC110 1GHz CPU, it also has 512MB RAM, 8GB/16GB internal storage plus an additional of 2GB memory card. Apart from these, it supports Bluetooth 3.0 - the most advanced among all other. It has an attractive 4.0 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen display with a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels. Regardless of its big screen, it weight only 119g, which is really light. Galaxy S will definitely attracts followers, a lot of followers.

Ways to Deal With an iPhone That Has a Broken Glass

If you are an iPhone owner, then you surely love your mobile because it has both impressive looks and features. What if your iPhone slips out of your hand and strikes a wall nearby and the impact is so strong that the glass of your iPhone cracks! Now the big question is what should be done? Yet the chances are that the LCD beneath the glass is still functioning in addition to its touch. Thus, you can continue using your iPhone as its working is as it was before. This idea would not be suited for most of the iPhone lovers because the style of the iPhone is gone and having it would not be fun anymore. There are also many other options. Let's go through them in this article.
If you are looking for the quickest solution to this problem, then just get inside an Apple store and come out with a new iPhone. Although this procedure may seem very simple, it is the costliest of all the ways to deal with the problem. There is another option of giving the iPhone for repair to Apple. This again is a costly option, but cheaper than the previous one. Even this requires that you to go to an Apple Store.
Buying a replacement glass screen is by far the cheapest option of having the problem solved. All you have to do is visit the eBay website and do a search regarding glass screen for iPhone. There you will find a number of companies that sell this product and you need to choose any one of them. While ordering, be sure that you order the glass screen for your iPhone version. Next, open a YouTube video which explains a do-it-yourself procedure of fixing an iPhone screen. This step actually involves a lot of careful electronics work and unless you are very good at it, you may not try it as you may end up having a completely damaged phone.
A simpler and more reliable process would be buying a screen assembly instead of the touchscreen glass alone. You can have this done in two ways which include a kit with LCD and another without LCD. This option is safe because it does not have anything to do with heat gun like in the one where you have to fix the touchscreen glass. As learning by watching is better than learning by reading, again look for how to repair an iPhone screen assembly on YouTube. By following the steps said one by one, you will get your old iPhone back in about 15 minutes only.
One final option, which is also cost effective, is to give your iPhone to a 3rd person for repairing. You can do a search in Craigslist and find a repair person who can help you in your area. In case you do not find a repair person in your city, you can do a Google search regarding iPhone mail repair. Send your damaged iPhone to a company offering the service and get it back completely repaired within a week.

Compass For Your iPhone

You can now do lots related to travelling with the help of your iPhone all because of the hard work put in by the iPhone developers. Various iPhone applications make use of the compass installed in your iPhone to give you lots of information regarding positioning and directions. Some of the great things that you can do are:
  • Get your exact location - If you're exploring a new neighbourhood and are on the lookout for a friend's apartment, or maybe even a great restaurant to have a sumptuous meal then there are various apps that are available on your iPhone that provide you with detailed information basically utilizing the compass of your phone.
  • Reach a particular destination - you don't need to use paper maps anymore all thanks to the work of iPhone developers who have created apps that give you precise directions to your destination. This too works because of the compass installed on your phone.
  • Locate a place - do you wish to visit a place, if yes then there are various apps that give you complete information of that place namely the proximity, the time taken to reach there from your current location and the best way to get there. So again it's all thanks to the humble compass within your phone that the iPhone developers have got a chance to build these great apps.
How the iPhone compass works
The offshore iPhone developers have put in a lot of effort and researched on this topic, not just to build compasses that deliver the highest accuracy but also compasses that are: compatible with all versions of the iPhone, easy to navigate and also blend in well with your model of the iPhone. The principle that your iPhone compass uses is that of a magnetometer in iOS. In addition to this magnetometer there is an accelerometer present and this acts as your digital compass giving you precise directions provided there are no other strong magnetic fields around you, as the presence of any other magnetic field will alter the effects produced by Earths own magnetic field thereby giving you false information. Therefore in the absence of any external field, your iPhone will detect just the Earth's intrinsic magnetic field, thus giving your device precise directional navigation with respect to that of the geomagnetic North Pole. But as always the geomagnetic and geographical North Pole does very, it's nothing to do with your application but that's the case with the Earth itself, the extend of this depends on your location.
Even though the iPhone development team has done its best in creating compass apps, they haven't met the demand for greater and better compasses in this 3G world. We see that the 3G devices don't come along with an inbuilt compass and therefore plenty of the compass apps are prevented from working. But the 3G devices come along with an arrow that indicates the North; however this can't be compared to a compass for many reasons. However the few apps that are present today are surely great and help you reach your destination with great accuracy.

How to Use an iPhone Tracking App to Keep Track of Your Kids

If you're a parent looking for a low cost (but highly effective) way to keep track of your kids, then you should consider an iPhone tracking app.
As you probably are aware, the iPhone is the hottest cell phone on the market today. The latest iPhone 4 sold millions in the first week, further cementing its place as the most sought after cell phone. Since the iPhone is a very popular device, it's obviously the desire of most kids today. This means parents can use this as a tool to monitor and track their kids by installing an iPhone tracking application that will report the location of their children at any time.
The way tracking apps work, is soon after installation, they begin to report GPS coordinates at certain intervals (which usually you can adjust) or they will enable you to "request" the location of the iPhone user. Results are usually sent to an account that you set up at time of purchase. This enables you to then log in using any internet connected device and view the tracking data.
The cool thing is that these tracking apps will show display the GPS location on a map (usually Google Maps), which means you can zoom in, zoom out, get driving direction, and even use Google's Street View option to get a 360 degree view of the area. There is truly no better tracking option out there.
An iPhone-tracking application means no more worrying if your kids are in school or when they don't pick up their phone when you try to call them. With this type of app, you'll always have a way to find out "exactly" where they are at any given time.
One thing to point out is that not all of these apps are created equal. Tracking applications will fall into two categories. The first one being 'visible' and the second one being 'hidden' to the user. What this means that before you purchase an iPhone-tracking app to track your kids, decide if you want them to know you are tracking them, or if you'd rather not tell them. In most cases, the visible tracking apps are sold within the App store, whereas the 'hidden' iPhone tracking apps are sold outside the App store.
The best way to decide if you should purchase a visible or hidden app is to ask yourself how your children will react if you tell them that you have installed an app on their phone to track them in case of an emergency. My guess is that if you make it a condition of having the iPhone, most kids won't care. However, if you feel your older children will not like the though of mom and dad knowing where they go, then definitely go with the hidden tracking applications.
Regardless of your decision, using an iPhone tracking app is the best way to keep track of your kids, and that means more "peace of mind" for you and your spouse.

Best Android Apps: My Top 10 Choices

Android based phones have a diverse array of applications available. For the new Android user, it can almost be overwhelming choosing which apps to install. With the recent release of new Androids handsets from major brands like Motorola, HTC, and Google, the Android developer community has been given a boost to crank out good quality Android software. Today, Android Marketplace features more than 10,000 apps from personal finances to games and utilities. While some applications are more useful to some than others, here are my top 10 Android apps.
Connect Bot
Connect Bot is an absolute must-have application for anyone that works with Unix or Linux servers. This app is a very decent and capable secure shell client for the Android phone. Connect Bot is an SSH Client for the Android Phone which allows you to connect to remote servers directly from your hand-held device.
Ping
This is another top Android app for anyone that works with networked computers. Need to know if your web server is up and running? Ping will let you check from your Android phone. This application does just what it says, it allows you to send ICMP pings to a server from your Android phone.
App Manager
App Manager is an Android application that makes managing your applications simpler. It allows you to backup unprotected applications to your SD card. It will also allow you to easily uninstall an application and to reinstall an application from your SD card.
Bar Code Scanner
This Android application uses the camera in your phone to read bar codes. This application reads both UPC style bar codes and QR codes. This application works with other Android applications such as the Amazon application to look up information and prices on products.
Got to Do
If you use David Allen's Getting Things Done organizational system, you will love Got to Do. This Android application implements the core concepts of GTD to manage tasks and projects.
Handcent SMS
The default messaging application on Android is pretty capable but it lacks a few features like saving MMS attachments. Handcent is a great replacement that shows messages in comic style bubbles, supports saving MMS attachments and has virtual greetings you can send to your friends.
Snap Photo Pro
Snap Photo Pro is a win at only $0.99 for the application. This Android application replaces the camera application that ships with Android. It features a software zoom and a stabilization. It also shows a grid representing the horizon and supports adjusting the white balance. I've found that this Android application takes much better photos than the default one.
WiFi Analyzer
If you need to see what wireless networks are around you and how strong their signals are, this is the application for you. It is also useful for troubleshooting Wi-Fi as it shows what channel the network is using and where various networks overlap. It can also indicate secure versus open networks.
Pic Say Pro
Photoshop for Android is still very much in its infancy but Pic Say Pro is an Android application that has a number of photo editing features. Even the free lite version outperforms the current incarnation of Photoshop for Android. This is a must have for editing your photos on the Android.
Shazam
I love music. And I love finding new music. Shazam is an Android application that can listen to a piece of music at a club or on the radio and identify the title, the album and the artist performing it. Amazingly, it is extremely accurate and works even on non-English songs.
There are lots of Android applications available today. Some are clearly better than others. My top 10 Android applications include networking tools, replacements for some of the default Android applications, a photo editor, organizer and music application. These top 10 Android applications will give you a great start with your Android mobile device.

Android RPG Games

Mobile phones have gotten fancier over the years. First the developers added cameras, the internet and now most smart phones can now play video games. They're not budget games like Snake or Tetris either. Smart phones are able to play video games that have the same quality that portable gaming devices produce.
One of the most recent smart phones released is Sony's Xperia Play. Xperia Play has been dubbed as the world's first PlayStation certified phone. Not only is it a phone, but it can double as a portable gaming device. The controls are very similar Sony's other products such as the PSP and the PS3 controller just to name a few.
This means you can finally play PlayStation-style video games with the comfort of a real control scheme. There is nothing more uncomfortable than playing games on your phone using the horrible numbered keypad. The most pleasant thing about the Xperia Play is that some PlayStation Classic games will be heading their way onto the system very soon.
Although there have not been any RPG PlayStation games available yet, it's more than likely that Square Enix will release some of its Final Fantasy games onto the platform. Final Fantasy VII, VIII and IX have all been ported to Sony's PlayStation Network. The thought of putting Final Fantasy VII (the most popular RPG ever made) on the Xperia Play could help Sony take a hold of the market dominated mostly by Apple.
Zenonia 2 is an old-school 16-Japanese RPG much like the older Final Fantasy games from the early '90s. The 2D graphics are cute and the game itself is one of the better RPGs available on Android phones. Although the game is heavily inspired by Japanese RPGs, it's actually made in Korea. Nevertheless, I'm sure it's a game RPG fans will love playing.
Gurk is a game that will be liked from gamers who grew up in the '80s. It's an old-school style video game that is only a mere 100KB to download. Despite Gurk's very old style of graphics, it's still in color and a blast to play. There are 24 levels in all and a total of 23 monsters for you to find and kill. Gurk won't be a game liked by modern gamers, but if you grew up playing the original Nintendo game system, you will fall in love with its old-school style of gameplay.
Another RPG game available on Android phones is Dungeon Defenders: First Wave. The game is an online cooperative action-RPG much like Torchlight and Baldur's Gate. The game is free to download for most phones. The graphics are in full 3D and looks stunning for a game that costs nothing to download. Up to four players can play together online. It may be clichéd and borrows elements from most other RPG games, however its visuals and multiplayer is what makes it quite fun.
Whether you own an Xperia Play or not, there are tons of RPG games to explore on Android phones. Quite a few of them are free to download, so there's no excuse for you not to play any of the games here on offer. Let's hope Square Enix brings more Final Fantasy games to the Android market as that will certainly boost the popularity of the genre.
If you're want to play Android RPG games then you have found your perfect place. Spend fun hours while playing Free online RPG games.

Best Ringtones for Apple iPhone

Mobile ringtones are defined as musical notes, songs, hymns, dialogues etc that alert the mobile owner to an incoming call, text and multimedia messages etc. iPhone, a product of Apple, is one of the most popular mobile phones in the market at the moment. Although iPhone performs a number of different functions for its owner, some of the most common ones are browsing the internet, listening to music, recording and storing video clips and images and making video calls. Some of iPhone's distinctive features are its touch screen, larger memory, flexibility, ability to multitask, longer battery life, faster access, and smaller size. Moreover, the sleek and chic look of iPhone has made it all the more popular in mobile users around the world. In addition to the various distinctive features of iPhone highlighted above, mobile users have the option of choosing a mobile ringtone that differentiates them from the crowd. Every one wants to have a catchy mobile ringtone that sets them apart from the crowd.
Creating Tones for Your iPhone
A number of websites offer free mobile ring tones for iPhone users. However, a large percentage of the target market (especially the younger generation) does not want popular and common mobile sounds but want to come up with their very own, for example, making a medley of his/her favorite songs. Following are some steps that any iPhone user can follow to make ring tones from your favorite tracks:
The first step to create a ringtone for your iPhone is to open iTunes and search your favorite song(s) from which you want to create your ring tone.
Listen to the track once to ascertain which part you would want to use in the ringtone for your iPhone. In most cases, choruses are a very good and convenient starting point for this purpose. Note the start and the stop time for the audio or video clip, after which you right click the song and get the information regarding the song.
Type the start and stop times in the appropriate text boxes. Choose the option to convert selection to AAC section; iTunes will then create a duplicated version of the song. Right click ringtone, select delete and then select the 'keep files' option. You will find the file in your user folder and it will be in the mp4 format. Don't forget to double click the song before synchronizing it.

Android Market Versus Apple App Store

There has been a lot of discussion lately about the differences between Apple's iPhone and phones based on Google's Android. While these discussions typically center on hardware, usability and the operating system, they rarely discuss the differences between the Android Market vs. the Apple App Store. There are a number of differences between the two, some of which primarily matter to end-users and others that matter primarily to developers.
Open vs. Closed System. The single biggest difference between the Android Market and the Apple App Store is the difference between an open and a closed system. Apple's system is a closed one. Applications must be submitted to Apple for review and Apple ultimately decides what may or may not be sold in the Apple App Store. In contrast, Android Market is an open system. Developers can directly publish their applications to the market without having them filtered through a central authority. This means that the Android Market is likely to have a greater variety of applications and content but end-users have to accept that the applications are not being screened. There is a definite trade off. The Android Market does support a community rating and comments section, however, which helps buffer against poorly designed or malicious applications.
Refunds. Another big difference between Android Market and the Apple App Store deals with paid applications. The former allows an end-user to obtain a refund by uninstalling the application within 24 hours of purchase. This makes it much safer as an end-user to purchase an application. If you buy an app that does not work properly or does not seem to meet your need, uninstall it within 24 hours and you get a full refund. The Apple App Store does not offer refunds on applications, so while the applications are screened by Apple, it is still buyer beware. You need to make sure an application will meet your needs before you purchase it.
Developer Initiation Fee. Another notable feature that distinguishes the two stores is how much it costs a developer to join. Android Market charges a fee of $25 to sign up as a developer. This fee then allows you to publish your apps in the market. The Apple App Store charges $99 to become a developer. Keep in mind that paying this fee does not mean your application will get added to the app store. Apple reviews all applications for acceptance so paying the fee does not guarantee that your app will be published. Both markets charge 30% of any paid application sales. Apple keeps this 30% while Google pays the 30% to the wireless carriers. This may result in greater cooperation from and adoption by wireless carriers for Android.
Competition. For a developer trying to get a new application noticed, there is less competition in Android Market. Currently Android Market hosts about 20,000 applications while the Apple app store has over 100,000 applications. There is a lot more room for new and innovative applications in the Android market.
There are a number of differences between the Android market vs. the Apple app store. Some of these differences matter more to developers and others to end-users. Being an open system and offering refunds to end-users makes the Android market a great asset for end-users. The openness ensures a greater variety of offerings and the ability to get a refund makes trying a paid application a low-risk venture. For developers, Android offers a lower cost to get started and an arena with much less competition in which to make your application stand out.
