new android features

The Android 3.2 is a recent android mobile applications package that is stacked with new and advanced features that enables the Android developers to try out new substances. The Android developers can make use of the downloadable component of the Android SDK. The downloadable format of the Android 3.2 contains the following:
Android Library
System Images
Emulator Skins
The Android 3.1 contains enhanced features that include the following:

More range of Tablets
The main and advanced feature of this version is that it contains optimisation of the system that enables the users to get a richer and effective experience. Android Development is done in such a way that it is compatible over a range of tablet devices.
Better and extended API
It helps the users to manage the screen size and compatibility of the Android powered devices. With the help of resource qualifiers and other attributes the users will be able to get a better control on the display features of their apps. The generalized size categories are no longer required and thus give better flexibility for the users to make better use of the advanced features.
Fixed Size apps and their compatibility
The new version has better compatibility for zoom mode that helps the users to see the fixed size apps on any kind of larger devices. The new version supports pixel scaled rather than the traditional UI stretching format for apps. The traditional format does not support the larger screens and tablets and other advanced devices.
Direct download from SD card
The main advantageous feature of the Android 3.2 is the direct downloadable facility from the SD card onto the applications that is required to support them.
Zoom compatibility mode
For better display of the apps depending upon the various screen sizes the Android 3.2 platform also supports zoom compatibility mode. This works in such a way that the UI on a small screen area is then fully zoomed to fill the area available for display.
Better Screen Support
The new platform also supports better screen visibility for the octant of the user. For this the space utilization is done taking into consideration the smallest width and width and the height.
Screens smallest width refers to the minimum size of the screen that is measured in pixel units. In case of the smallest width refers to the width while in the landscape orientation it refers to the height. This is an important concept as the application considers this smallest width as the one that is required to draw the UI excluding all the other screen space that is kept for the system.
Screens Height and Width refers to the horizontal and vertical space that is available for layout design. This is measured in dip units.
New Resource Qualifiers:
Android development in the new version of 3.2 has enabled better resource qualifiers. It helps in creating resource configuration that can be utilized for a particular width or height or density that could be measured in pixels. It also supports the creation of overlapping resource configuration.
With so many advanced features Android 3.2 is truly ruling the industry and has taken it by storm.

The Android Market is now Google Play

In an effort to unify music, movie, book, and app purchases under a banner that is operating system agnostic, Google is phasing out the Android Market in favor of Google Play. What’s the difference? A new name, new logo, but otherwise not much. The content and services remain the same, and don’t worry, you can still push apps from your desktop browser to your smartphone.

Soon Google will be rolling out the Google Play Store to Android devices to replace their current Android Market builds. Any content purchased during the Android Market era will be retained and available via Google Play. See, these aren’t any real sweeping changes. Just Google refocusing their efforts and placing equal importance on all aspects of what was once primarily an app store.
In celebration of the launch of Google Play, a “7 Days to Play” promotion will feature a different book, album, video rental, and app at a special sale price each day (albums are just $0.25). Other deals include $0.49 apps and $3.99 albums. You can read a bit more about Google Play at the source link below. Now the real challenge: getting used to writing Google Play instead of Android Market.

new android market update

It was announced earlier by Samsung that they will be updating the Android 2.2 and it will be made available via Kies software upgrade program. In case you do not know what Kies is, it is an application for desktop that currently is made compatible with Windows. Now, this is good news as to date, almost all Android mobile phones have received their Android 2.2 updates. The Samsung Galaxy S on the other hand is the last of those Android mobile phones to ever receive the Android 2.2 or Froyo update. If you are an OSX user, then there is no need for you to worry, because you won't be left out.

The Korean manufactured who promised the Samsung Galaxy S Android 2.2 (Froyo) update has finally arrived. Samsung via a press release announced that they official Android 2.2 (Froyo) update have started it current rounds of updates.

android new version

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is the new flagship smartphone from the expansive Galaxy range by the prolific Korean manufacturer. In this article I will take a look at some of its main features so you can get an idea of the user experience you can expect from this high end device.

Screen
Arguably the most impressive feature of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus is its high resolution touchscreen. And by high resolution, that's exactly what I mean. Standing at a whopping 720x 1280, it blows the previous record holder, the Apple iPhone 4S, out of the water. The iPhone 4S has long held the title as the highest resolution touchscreen available on a mobile phone. It is called the retina display because the human eye cannot distinguish between individual pixels, but the Galaxy Nexus boasts an even higher resolution. This makes it the perfect multimedia device, because whether you are using the phone to view photos and videos, play games or browse the internet, the contents of the screen are displayed in ultra high quality. Because the screen utilises super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen technology, colour saturation is great (up to 16 million colours can be displayed), further enhancing the multimedia experience.
Camera
When choosing a new smartphone, most users invariably look at the quality of the camera as one of the major deciding factors. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus does not disappoint on this front, boasting a 5 megapixel unit which operates at a pixel resolution of 2592x 1936. Although there are many phones with a higher pixel count, the quality of this camera is still very impressive. As an added bonus, the camera can also be used to capture video footage in settings of up to 720p high definition. The camera also comes with the full package of features that you would expect from any high end smartphone. These include touch focus, face detection, autofocus and LED flash. These features make it easy to capture pleasing results every time.
Internet Browsing
One of the major advantages of smartphone use is the fact that you can browse the internet pretty much anywhere. Wi-Fi and 3G connections provide the means to connect to the internet while the new Android Ice Cream Sandwich OS provides the default web browsing app. In areas with 3G coverage, speeds of up to 21 Mbps can be achieved, which is among the highest available on a smartphone.
Of course, this article only provides an overview of a couple of its main features, but if you look at the spec list, you will find that most aspects of this phone offer similar levels of quality. There is a powerful dual-core processor, plenty of internal storage (16 and 32 GB versions available), and, as mentioned, the new version of the popular Android platform, of which this is the handset assigned o showcase the new software.
If you are interested in the Samsung Galaxy Nexus, you will be pleased to know that several UK networks are currently offering the handset for free on selected tariffs.

android apps

Just like all the other categories of Android apps, the sports apps available for your Android phone are extremely diverse. In my opinion, this particular category may be the most diverse simply because of all the different sports that are played throughout the world. Of course with every sport comes hundreds of Android apps.
If, for instance, you're looking for an app that will allow you to keep up with the many European soccer leagues, you need to have at least some help before you start downloading apps. If you go in blind, chances are you will download ten apps that sound like they would do the trick before you find one that does half what you would want it to do! That's just how it is. I just hope that if you go about finding apps that way, you are doing so with free apps- otherwise you could be out hundreds of dollars pretty darn quick.

One last note: I am going to concentrate on free Android sports apps that are popular now and will be popular in the future. Well that's obvious, right? Not exactly- a lot of the apps fly to the top of the rankings because it's a certain time of the year or a huge sporting event is going on (World Cup or the Olympics). I'm also looking into the pure quality of the app and the developer of the app. This way, if you want an awesome Football App (either US Football or regular Football), you should be pretty happy now and in the future with the one I list...
Although there are a lot of Android sports apps that do many more things than providing sports news, I'm concentrating on free Android apps for sports fans on this particular list.
Sporting News Pro Football
If you're a huge NFL fan, this app should be on your phone. This is a great app to have for game day or if you're like me and like to look up every stat for every player! The user interface is classy and not too crowded.
CBS Sports Pro Football
I really shouldn't have two pro football Android apps on my list, but it's the most popular sport in the US and after thinking about it, why not have three? Maybe I won't go that far. This is a great football app for everyone, but it's really geared towards those who play Fantasy Football through CBS Sports. Just login and you will have complete control over your fantasy team!
NBA Game Time Lite 2009-10
This is the official NBA Android app from last season. This coming season's app will surely be even better! It provides all the player and team stats, real-time scores and even TV information so that you can find out what channel your favorite team is playing on! If you're an NBA fan and you want a standalone pro basketball app, this is your best option.
F1 LIVE RACING
Are you a Formula 1 fan? I'll tell you what, honestly, I'm not much of a fan but that doesn't mean I don't love this app. This free Android sports app provides more than just live updates for every F1 race around the world. Plain and simple, the graphics and the features are fun. If you download this app, you won't be disappointed!
FotMob 5.0 - Live Soccer
The best soccer leagues from around the world are followed on this app. Some of them include the Premier League, Serie A, Primera Division and Allsvenskan. I could go on and on, but I really wouldn't have a clue about what I'm talking about, haha. I'll admit that I'm not the biggest soccer (football) fan, but I've looked through this app and it's a very solid, professionally built app that I would recommend to anyone.
ESPN ScoreCenter
I really shouldn't have to say much more than this is the official ESPN app. Heck, I'm not going to: ESPN is "The Worldwide Leader In Sports" after all!
SportsTap
This is again more of a sports portal. All of the big sports are covered by this app and it's obvious why hundreds of thousands of people really like it! It's tastefully done and you'll never complain about a lack of stats or information.
If you're looking for just one free Android sports app to satisfy your sports-fix, you can't go wrong with either ESPN ScoreCenter or SportsTap!
Major League Baseball News
There is borderline too much (not in a bad way) baseball information crammed into this app! If you can't get enough of MLB, you need to download this free Android app now. Along with all of the standard stats, standings and results, each team has their own page and you can customize your own RSS feed through this app!
MMA News
All the latest results, upcoming matches and octagon gossip you'd ever want! If you're into Mixed Martial Arts, this is the app to get. IMO, it blows away any other MMA-related Android app.
Sports Radio Droid
his radio app gives you the capability to listen to just about any sports show in the country! There's a healthy list of stations that are covered and I literally NEED this app when I go on vacation. Heaven forbid I'd be away from my sports talk show for a few days, haha. It's also a great app if you're living far away from your hometown and your favorite team.

IPad 3 to be launched in first week of March 2012.

This past month rumors have been flowing here and there about the new IPad. At the same time last year everyone was expecting IPad 2. The rumors and reports about IPad 3 began back in December and hopes were high that it will be launched in February 2012, but it isn’t now the stakes are higher than ever because the IOS users want and are expecting some major  changes in the upcoming device in the first week of march. This news was given by All Things D.
We have already discussed some rumors and specifications which are being expected in IPad 3. The report tells that IPad 3 will be revealed to the world in San Francisco in the first week. Apple has the highest stocks and share in the market as of 2011 and i don’t think they are going to take any chances now. IPad 2 was also launched in march 2011, and have done a great deal in the tablet and computer market. So Apple is thinking the same about the IPad 3. They are maintainig there momentum to keep their name higher than others.
As most of you all know that, the new IPad will be same like IPad 2 in design. Some major changing in resolution which i think is a good job by Apple with resolution up to 2048×1536 Retina Display, bringing its pixel density in line with the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S. With improved Camera 5 megapixels and a LED flash. thickness same as the IPad 2. So March is not away we just have to wait and watch.

new android x

Are there any safe ways to really get a free new Droid X phone?
There's simply a lot of freebie offers in the Internet. In fact there's too many of these offers one would think they are simply a way to lure people to spend when they don't intend to. It is normal to be wary of such promotionals as much as it is normal to be curious about them. Didn't you ever wonder if it is really possible to get anything for nothing if only through the Internet?

For one to get a free new Droid X phone, doing a little research is necessary and familiarization of certain characteristics found only in legit offers is equally important. Arm yourself with all the necessary knowledge and you are sure to bring home a brand new Android phone. What are the things you must know?
If an offer is authentic, people will surely talk about it, right? Visit forums and see what other people have to say about certain offers.
An authentic rewards site must look it. When you end up with a website that looks put together with lots of error, maybe you should try another site. If a site can give stuff away, it can surely afford a web designer, right?
Also, a legitimate free new Droid X phone offer (or any offer for that matter) will not require you pay any fees or provide financial information i.e. your credit card number. If you are asked for any shipping and handling fees, make sure that the item will really be sent to you before parting with your money.

new android version

The Google foray into the smart phones and tablet's market has given birth to various Android versions. Android is the Google operating system used to run devices on cell phones and tablets. Due to the popularity of Androids, there has been a mad scramble by major telecommunication manufacturers such as Samsung and Motorola to integrate Android updates into their products. This has led to a series of Android software updates and the most recent has been the introduction of the Android 2.x and 3.x versions
When buying intelligent phones and tablets, it is very important to know, which included features are of benefit to the user. This will enable the user decide to buy either a smart phone or a tablet. The Android 3.x is the most-recent version and is designed to run on tablets. The majority of today's mobile phones run Android 2.2 or 2.3 versions. In addition, the Android 2.3 is encrypted with VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol). VoIP simply means that the Internet networks can be used to make phone calls over the net. Adobe flash is also included from the Android 2.2 version. The advantage of having Adobe flash on these devices is that it's easier to create stunning apps containing pictures, audio, and video.

Newer versions of Androids run on tablets. The major development of the latest Android 3.x versions is that it includes such features as document creation, HTML5 tagging, opening widgets, and running downloaded apps and games. These apps and games can be downloaded straight from the Android market and the Amazon Store.
With the massive popularity of social networks, websites such as Twitter, LinkedIn and Facebook have become very popular. One of the latest features on the Android 3.x tablets is that it has become much easier to play music and launch Facebook. Social networks can be launched quicker through the new home screens installed on these devices.
Another expensive feature that can be used through newer versions of Android is access to storage facilities such as Dropbox. Dropbox is very valuable because free users can use it to store up to two Gigabytes of their personal information. This information can be accessed by the user from anywhere including their mobile phones, tablets and any computer that has Internet access.
The latest version of WordPress has also been integrated into more recent versions of the Android operating system. WordPress is currently the most popular blogging and content management software in the world. WordPress has become the number one software for launching websites due to the massive number of plugins that can be integrated for easier usage.
Doubtless product launches of more Android versions will soon be available in high street stores. This is because Google's Android technology is free and hence Telecom companies do not have to pay for usage. As a result, more phone and tablet manufacturers will convert to Android technology. This will benefit Android users as more of their friends will convert to Android devices.

The Android is one of these platforms that has been extensively worked upon and developed in order to have robust and unique operation method.
The Android is generally described as an operating system and a software platform that Google developed in order to facilitate improved development of mobile devices. This allows developers to work in their code on JAVA based language that make use of Google-based JAVA libraries. The Android mobile platform encompasses a software stack for mobile devices. new android devices

Let's face it, not everyone is inclined to using smartphones especially when the only things you do are making calls and the occasional SMS. Some people just don't know how to use their smartphones, especially the new Android devices. Being the fastest growing mobile platform in the world, it would be a shame to put all of its features, apps and services to waste. Here is a list on how to get the most out of your new Android device.

Make use of your 3G
Switching off your 3G connectivity will definitely ruin the full experience of having an Android smartphone. This kills the best features of Android which are the notification systems. Let's say you have already downloaded your Facebook, Foursquare and Twitter. Even better, some Android phones have these social networking apps built-in the phone. However, Twitter apps become absolutely useless without constant access to 3G. The downfall to this is that you'll need to charge your phone every night as it'll be taking a lot of your battery life. You'll just have to sacrifice it if it means using your Android to its full potential.
Never mind a task killer
Android already has a basic but flawless multi-tasking capability that handles all running apps elegantly well. There is no need to run a 3rd party killer which will not even result to a better battery life. Other task killers will also prevent your apps from running in the background which means no notifications and no updates for you. The Android market is fast starting to become significantly at par with the iPhone App Store. More and more Android phones are being sold in the market which has recently become the world's leading smartphone platform. With a huge target audience and users using Android, new and fresh apps are coming out daily to further excite its users which means multi-tasking can be flawless with an Android phone.
Share your Apps
You might not know this, but some HTC phones have a built-in App sharing services found inside the apps drawer. Select the App Sharing app and choose which apps you would want to share via standard portals. You can then share your free apps to your loved ones via Facebook, WordPress, mail or even messages.
Make use of your Android Power Control Widget
This powerful widget lets you toggle your Bluetooth, GPS, Wi-Fi, Sync and brightness all in one tab. Most importantly, this power control will be able to save most of your battery life.
Maybe you just got your new Android phone. Or maybe you've had it for quite some time but am getting bored with your Android interface. Whatever your reason must be, make sure you get your money's worth when it comes to handling your Android device.

android sdk

All that is gold doesn't necessarily have to glitter. Android has been touted as being one of the next big platforms that would knock iPhone of its throne. However, this doesn't seem to be the situation for Android. The ultimate problem that the platform is currently facing is the number of versions of software on phones. With a whole slew of releases available for the Android platform, many apps are not necessarily backward or forward compatible with the operating system. Add to this the various vendors providing different phones with numerous variations of hardware components means that most developers have nightmares developing code for each individual phone rather than a universal app.
The problem inherently in this situation is that cross-platform independence regardless of hardware is an ideal utopia that developers want but can never get. Similar to the BlackBerry situation where porting apps from other platforms is a nightmare, it can happen but not without a significant fight.

From a smaller developer viewpoint, Android is a difficult platform to work on. The amount of resources and time needed to code for a single application is significant for a small business; the need to re-code for various hardware and software versions is not conducive to building a customer base. Not only do variations in hardware and software affect the overall compatibility of the app, it reflects poorly on the build quality of the app. As a result, customers are naturally wary of the platform when they experience poor app quality and interaction. Developers are then compelled to write quick-and-dirty patches to resolve problems, which is inherently dangerous and shoddy programming.
Google needs to address this issue carefully. There are a number of underpowered phones that are running Android version 1.5 to extremely high-end powerful phones with the latest version of 2.0 available. The inability of versions to run compatibility backwards or forwards mean that apps available on either version will only run on versions that are exactly the same as theirs.
The iPhone countered this via the launch of new phones along with the compulsion to use the iTunes interface to ensure that the phone software was up-to-date. Draconian and controlling as it may seem, Apple has hit a massive homerun with the iPhone because they have managed to control the entire experience of using the iPhone. Since customers only know one experience, Apple can easily run damage control when software or malicious threats arise.
Emulators would be the next logical step to ensuring that apps run across all platforms and hardware, however, the very nature of an emulator is to provide something akin to the real experience. There is always a cost of using an emulator; it may never really reflect how apps interact with the phone's hardware and software. Resultantly, the developers are still left in a lurch how to deal with the variations.
Google needs to provide some means of standardizing the software available on all hardware or provide some form of an interface that would at least help users and developers diagnose problems with their Android-compatible phones. The logical assumption would be a web-based interface that lets users download from a central location similar to iTunes. Android's Marketplace has the potential to become this point, however, it would need to be flawlessly designed and integrated with all hardware. With the specialist technology that Google has recently acquired, it would make sense that the Marketplace may receive a revamp that may provide an interface for phones to remain updated via Google.

new android update

Google has been steadily improving the Android operating system for mobile phones, adding lots of new features with every update. Its latest Android update, dubbed "Ice Cream Sandwich", is a huge step forward for the company, enhancing the mobile operating system in almost every way possible. This brings to the forefront a complete makeover of the already-robust operating system; it is also filled with fresh features that will be loved by Android fans all around the world.
This Android update brings the version number to 4.0, combining the best of its predecessor's phone interface and Honeycomb's tablet GUI. It results in a visually appealing interface that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but is also very practical. It contains smart and useful innovations that will be utilized by next-gen mobile phone models from various manufacturers, including Motorola, Samsung and HTC. Below are five features that make it stand out from the crowded smartphone market.

Android Beam - this is basically the incorporation of near-field communication technology that has been picked up by other phone makers, including BlackBerry. It will let users share content with each other by tapping the back of the phone with another. Users will be able to send web links, YouTube videos, pictures, and other digital content simply by touching others' phones. This is only applicable to other Android 4.0 users only though.
Face Unlock is one of the most talked about features in this Android update. There are no other smart phones in the market that have this technology. It scans and verifies your face before letting you use your phone. This uses advanced facial recognition technology that is simply not there in other high-end phones, including Apple iPhone 4S. On top of this, Google claims that it is impossible to fool the system with a picture of the owner. Only the actual owner will be able to use his or her phone. It is a technological marvel.
Taking a cue from Microsoft's Windows Phone, Google has introduced a People App. The company has placed your friends, family and acquaintances at the center of your device. It will keep you informed on what everyone has been up to. It uses social networking websites such as Facebook, LinkedIn and Twitter to grab status updates, work information and photos straight to you. Additionally, it will allow the user to reject any untimed calls.
This Android update also enables re-sizable widgets, letting users embed live content. It will let users check email, listen to music and carry out other tasks without even having to open the related apps. It also helps people save screen space.
The above are some of the best features in the upcoming Android update. There are many more enhancements and new features that are waiting to be used by users in the days to come.

new iphone 2g

When it comes to a broken iPhone, the first instinct can be to head to the store for a brand new one. There is something alluring about freshly wrapped electronic goods, with their untouched pureness and their pristine, unscratched surfaces. However, there is nothing worse than tossing out a perfectly good iPhone just because some minor internal feature need repair. The truth is when a broken iPhone is taken back to the store a repair may not always be what is offered, and the sales or customer service team may be instructed to push you towards a new phone. iphone new update

For the thousands of consumers who bought an iPhone 4 and have recently learned of the new iPhone 4S release but cannot buy the new phone as they are still committed to their existing contract there has been some good news.
Apple have just released their new iOS5 software allowing existing iPhone 4 users to update their phone with over 200 new features that will come as standard on the new iPhone 4S.
These include the new iCloud service which is able to sync photos, music, contacts, apps, documents and calendar with any other Apple devices such as the iPad 2 that the user owns, initially on sign up the user is allocated 5GB of space which can be upgraded to 10, 20 or even 50GB directly from their iPhone 4.

Another new service introduced with the iOS5 is iMessage which is very much like the existing Blackberry Messenger service and allows users to share locations, photos and contacts free of charge as well as send free SMS style text messages.
Also included in the update is an upgrade to the existing iPhone 4 camera which increases the speed it takes to capture a picture by using a two touch function on the main home button for instant access even when the phone is locked, no more needing to enter a security code.
Other new features of note include a photo editing suite which acts very much like a mobile Photoshop for cropping, rotating and removing red-eye from pictures, there also the new iTunes Match included free which syncs and stores all of the users music.
The process of upgrading the iPhone 4 with the new iOS5 software is fairly uncomplicated although not quite as easy as an Android update:
Open iTunes software and click 'Check for Updates' in the Menu, you're looking for iTunes 10.5
The user should then plug in their iPhone at which point they will be prompted to download iOS5
Upon clicking 'Download and Update' the user simply needs to follow the on-screen prompts.
Once downloaded, set up an iCloud account and enable the locations services.
Although some of the new features found in the latest iPhone 4S are not included in the update such as the new 'Siri' voice recognition software, users of the iPhone 4 can now enjoy many of the new features in the new phone without having to invest in Apple's latest product.
