iphone nano

The tech news sphere was set alight earlier on this week after rumours surfaced from the business paper, Bloomberg BusinessWeek that Apple could be working on creating an iPhone 'nano' in an attempt to capture the lucrative budget mobile phone sector. The paper claims that after years of speculation, Apple is still working on a budget version of its flagship consumer device.
A source from the publication stated its source came from 'people who had been briefed on the plans' and that at least one other source had seen a working prototype that was at least a third smaller than the current iPhone 4 and uses existing components from the current generation to cut on production costs whilst the more pricey premium components are held back for its yet to be launched iPhone 5.
Further interest into the 'nano' iPhone was raised after the Wall Street Journal backed up the previous claims of a budget offering being lined up from Apple. Also rumoured was a revamp of its MobileMe service due to flagging sales and low subscription numbers, with a possibility of announcing that the service will be free to iPhone users and will be changed from a synchronised offering of mail, contacts and calendar to a digital content platform where users could back data up to. It could also include the long rumoured streaming service for iTunes after Apple's acquisition of the streaming based website Lala.
Unfortunately this news, whilst backed up by 'sources' can't be taken as confirmation, as throughout the iPhone's history there have been constant rumours of a smaller budget model mobile phone offering from Apple throughout the years.
The rumoured sources also leaked information that Apple might intend to make the forthcoming iPhone 5 a 'world phone' by including GSM and CDMA technology, as it had to launch a CDMA iPhone 4 variant in its home market to please American consumers. A teardown of the CDMA device found that the technologies and hardware were in place for a 'world phone' version, but the lack of a SIM card slot was the only thing from stopping the company from launching it, preferring to release two separate devices.
The iPhone 'Nano' will also have competition from the newly released, and formerly Palm, HP Veer smartphone. Launched at the beginning of February, the Veer is an evolution of Palm's Pre line of phones, with models being offered in small, medium, and large sizes. The Veer being the smallest, the Pre3 being the medium sized device and a new web OS powered tablet, the TouchPad, completing the large offering.
Only time shall tell whether these rumours prove to be true as having a budget device in a manufacture's line up can prove to be a killer option as seen with HTC's Wildfire handset which provides premium looks at an affordable price.
It would allow networks to offer the phone on competitively priced pay as you go plans that cater to the consumer's needs.

The international market research firm said the market share of Google Android platform in June in the U.S. increased from 38 percent in May to 40%. Apple iOS's market share was 26.6%, ranking the second.

Google Android operating system may face many legal proceedings, but its market share still ranked the highest in the U.S. It is estimated that by the end of June in 2011, the U.S. smart phone users are 78.5 million, a growth of 8%.
In the June of this year, 30,000 mobile phone users are investigated. The survey shows that benefit from the sales of a large number of operators and hundreds of Android phones in the market, Android's share in June increased from 38% in May to 40%. Apple iOS ranked the second place with a market share of 26.6%.

A few days ago, Analysys said Android accounts for 48 percent of the global market share. Apple iOS's global share is 19%. After Samsung Verizon Wireless, AT & T and Sprint carriers released Galaxy S II Mobile in this summer, the battle between Android and iPhone will open a new chapter. The sales of Samsung's new mobile phone exceeded five million units in less than 90 days.

It is expected that Apple will launch iPhone 5 in the September or October. iPhone 5 will configure a faster processor, new body design, running iOS 5. Analysys said that iPhone 5 will help Apple to strengthen its strong position in the second half of 2011.

In the June, RIM BlackBerry platform continued to decline, from 24.7% in May fell to 23.4%. The phone companies want to boost its share of smart phones by the release of new Blackberry 7 OS platform in the end of this month. The new products include an upgraded BlackBerry Torch and the Bold.

Its global market share is only 1%. Microsoft believes that once Mango smart phones go to the market this fall, it will soon change the status quo.

The market share of Google Android in major countries of Europe and America is more than 50%. Google's market share in the United States, Australia and major European countries reached 50.6%. Although Apple's iPhone 4 and iPhone 3GS are only sold, but its share in Europe is still more than 25%.

Will Your iPhone 4 Case Fit The Verizon iPhone?

Apple and Verizon recently announced the launch of the much awaited iPhone for the Verizon network. This new iPhone, whilst looking exactly the same as the iPhone 4 has had a couple of minor changes made to it. What do these changes mean for those people wanting to purchase accessories for their new Verizon iPhone, and in particular for those people wishing to move from the AT&T network to Verizon?
Differences Between the iPhone 4 and the New iPhone for the Verizon Network
First, let us look at the changes that Apple have made to the Verizon iPhone. According to a number of blogs and websites the new iPhone is exactly the same as the iPhone 4 except for a minor repositioning of the external antenna and the slight relocation of the Mute and On/Off buttons. The antenna changes have resulted in the repositioning of the gaps between the external antennas (a new gap has appeared just above the Mute button) and the volume buttons, whilst still on the left hand side, have been moved ever so slightly down the phone (presumably to accommodate the antenna change).
Can You Use iPhone 4 Cases on the Verizon iPhone?
Most likely not is the simple answer. Whilst the repositioning of the external antenna will probably have minimal impact the relocation of the Mute and On/Off buttons will. Most of the cases being designed and manufactured at the moment are precision made and therefore have been designed to exactly fit the external features of the iPhone 4.
The slight change in the positioning of the external buttons will mean that cases designed for the iPhone 4 will not fit the new iPhone designed for the Verizon network. In particular iPhone 4 cases that have separate holes for the Mute and On/Off buttons will certainly not fit the Verizon iPhone.
iPhone 4 cases that have a full opening to accommodate the Mute and On/Off buttons may fit the new iPhone however, do not be surprised if the case does not fit perfectly. Owners of leather pouches and flip-cases looking to purchase the Verizon iPhone should be unaffected.
When Will the New Cases be Available?
A number of iPhone case suppliers have announced that they will be modifying their iPhone 4 case designs to take into account the subtle changes. These cases will be available from 11 February 2011 to coincide with the release of the much anticipated Verizon iPhone.
