How To Take Great Photos With Your Android Phone

Taking photos is easy nowadays. Many phones, actually most of them, have cameras and well, if you want to take a snap all you need to do is access your camera on your smartphone, focus and click right? Of course, you will have your photo but how is the quality of that photo? With an Android phone you can take better shots at night, change its background to a blur and so much more.
Your phone's hardware and software may affect quality of your photos and they vary from one phone model to the other. The software in your phone may unlock more manual controls which can aid you in terms of advanced photography. Always update your phone and explore other camera settings and see what they feature. Consider the following tips and experience great photography.
Even in day time, use the flash
The flash provides a burst to stand in for shadows and areas with low exposure especially on sunny days; it's like your secret recipe to a great meal so use it. During day time, the flash may help to improve the appearance of the subject. For instance the cheeks may need highlighting; the forehead or the area around the eyes may need adjustments if they appear too dark.
Camera smartphones tend to set exposure on bright areas leading to much darkened shadows. You can automatically or manually turn on the flash and it will pop up details when you are within a few feet. Remember to keep close to your subject. You may use the fill flash when there are backlit subjects. If the subject is dark for instance, you may consider avoiding a sunset background or a colorful sky but instead light up the foreground with the flash.
For better night shots, adjust the ISO settings
Try and make use of whatever light is available because using a harsh flat light might blow out your images while mere weak flashes might not cut it. Ask the subject to be still and if it's difficult for you to be still, use the phones stabilizer application settings. Even if parts of the image are blurred you can improve on them by using other tools. A camera phone's ISO setting on film speed are more or less like those on a standard camera. The higher the number the more sensitive it is to light but it can also be noisy and also interferes with the color. Exercise with your camera phone to get acquainted with it.
Try not to use the Digital Zoom
A camera phone cannot move its lens and be able to magnify or zoom images but instead it has a digital zoom. Though the zooming function is there you should rarely use it because instead of capturing the finer details, it blows up the image. If you wish to edit the image, you can do so later on a PC or by an image editor, but you can't reverse zooming on an already taken photo. Walk closer to your subject if the subject cannot do so to fill the frame. It is still recommended to avoid the zooming even if the subject is a bit far and moving such as when trying to photograph a celebrity who may not necessarily be posing. Take the shot and edit it later.
With good lighting come great photos
Great lighting can make even an image taken by any phone look great and so keep in mind that lighting is important when taking photos. The light should be at your back and ask you're subject to reposition if you are facing the sun. If possible use the three lights; key light, a fill light and a back light to illuminate the scenes. From the camera which is nearest comes the key light; the fill light is lit to soften shadows and the back light as the name suggests lights the back or far side to give the scene some sense of depth. When indoors you may use light from the windows as key and fill light and a lamp for the back light. The camera will do the bright light so avoid other bright sources.

iPad 2 or Android Tablet?

The original Apple iPad has had a great first year. Although tablet pcs have been around for quite a few years, the sluggish and unfriendly performance offered never captured the publics' imagination to any great degree. Now, with the unimaginable success of smartphones over the years, it was time for the tablet to make a comeback. Apple have exploited the lack of competition in this end of the market to build a sizable advantage over the competition, mainly from Android. However, not to outdone by Apple, Google have moved swiftly to update their Os for tablets and help companies like Motorola and Samsung get their own tablets to the market quite quickly. But has the "rushed" launch of the Galaxy Tab hampered their momentum? The original Tab was released to the market using the smartphone version of Android and commentators felt this was a bad move, especially considering how well the iPad performed. However, with Honeycomb now being drip-fed onto the latest and most powerful Android tablets, the playing field has been levelled somewhat.
With the iPad 2 featuring an updated dual-core processor, the Android tablets quickly followed suit with the Motorola Xoom and Galaxy Tab 10.1 featuring similar engines. These are widely considered the "Big 3" in the tablet world at the moment, RIM's playbook and other such tablets are not exactly garnishing the greatest reviews. All of the "Big 3" feature updated Os's, front and rear facing cameras and HD video recording. Both Android tablets have 1080p playback, whereas the iPad 2 only manages 720p. Many reviewers have commented on the fact that, despite having a slightly lower resolution, the iPad 2's screen just looks better. The two Android tablets are the clear winners when it comes to the cameras, with both featuring 2MP front facing and the Xoom having a 5MP rear, the Tab an 8MP. The ipad 2 can only manage a VGA front facing camera, with the rear rumored to be 3-5MP. Apple will undoubtedly address this shortcoming with their annual hardware update of the iPad, most likely due Spring/Summer 2012.
Android 3.0 has now been fully optimised for tablets, although Googles frustrating policy of only making the latest versions available on select machines remains. This will not really affect the high-end Android tablet customers, but the lower end will have to make do with older builds. Widgets and full Flash support are now in place, Androids only real ammunition against the seemingly unstoppable iPad 2. This will no doubt make a sizable dent in Apples market share, but many (including myself), expect Apples domination in this market to continue for years to come. Recent figures released point to the iPad having 89% of worldwide and 97% of US traffic. Android has come on leaps and bounds in the past few years, taking a sizable chuck of the smartphone market. Non 'premium' smartphones are doing excellently for the Android brand, offering consumers a complete smartphone experience at a fraction of the price of a new iPhone 4 or Galaxy S2. Honeycomb and future Android updates will continue to improve their tablet experience also, offering a flexibility an Apple device will never have.
Apple, I feel, will continue to dominate the tablet sector for years to come. With the iPad and iPad 2, they have built a brand people want. Microsoft has had tablet PCs out for years and been unable to convince the public or even the vendors that they are the future. Apple has built a lifestyle tool in the iPad. A 'tablet pc' may sound daunting for casual users, an iPad is 'just a big iPhone', but the public love it. Now with iOS5 on the horizon coupled with the iCloud and iTunes Share services, the ease of use can only get better. Better multitasking, tabbed browsing, notifications and multi-touch gestures are some of the new features available for the iPad and iPad 2 this September. Unlike the latest versions of Android, these will be directly available for download to your device, no limitations. iTunes is the biggest music store in the world, the new features in iCloud and iTunes share will only increase this.
The winner here? Well both the iPad 2 and Android equivalents are all fantastic devices, similarly priced and when it comes down to it, really quite similar. Choice has never been better and buyers have a wealth of literature at their fingertips to help them choose. Apple will continue to dominate I suspect, however Google cannot be written off and will continue to steal the iPad's market share, albeit slower than they may like. So, the real winner here is you, the consumer. Choose wisely, and you wont be disappointed.

Android Applications and Android App Development

The new Verizon Droid Phone features the process of Android applications development that is very similar to that of iPhone applications development. The android operating system is mainly supported by the Google. The Droid phones run on the Android operating system. The Android operating system is popular among the app developers just because of its remarkable simplicity. This makes the process of app very easy to execute and develop. The Droid phones empowered by the Android platforms have a wide array of facilities to be offered to the Droid users. It is because of this that the Droid phone is one of the leading smart phone devices in the world.
The popularity of the Android phones has now grown to such an extent that no business would like to leave the Android phone users unattended. The competition has made every single buyer important for the businesses. This implies that it has become nearly compulsory for the business to get an Android app developed.
The first step towards Android App Development is to log on to the website of Android app developer and download the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). The Android SDK is very much like the iPhone SDK but at the same time a person who does not basic computer programming may find it a bit difficult to use. The Android SDK has a Droid emulator. This emulator allows the software developers to test the operation and functionality of the Android application. This facilitates the developer with not having to load, unload, and reload a part or piece of software repeatedly.
The other most attractive feature of Android SDK is its ability to adjust and be compatible with the developer's software tools for the application development. This makes the task of Android application development very easy. The Android SDK can be easily integrated with Eclipse IDE. This facilitates the developers with an ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. These projects could be pertaining to Droid phones as well as other phones too. The combination of the Droid phone and the android operating system is very much synchronized. The other feature that is important for the developers is the mostly open source functionality of the Droid. The Verizon Droid phone works on software that is totally the creation of Google.
From the current perspective the future of Android platform looks very optimistic. The Droid phone is sure to be one the best smart phone available in the market. The technology used has tried to get rid of any possible error or malfunctioning software in the phone device. The other brands are sure to face a tough competition from this new smart phone.
If you want to be assured of the success of the Android application development it is better to hire the services of professional iPhone application developers that are creative, enthusiastic, experienced and finally fit you budget.

Android, Occupy Wall Street

What if a race of androids were created to give humanity a desperately needed survival path? Androids get fit into society as a saving force. Early androids prototypes, likely would be weak, doddering, and have limited computer power. But with dedicated work by developers, they'd evolve into strong cyber-beings with powerful computers, running intuitive programs. Once they were ready, the android race could become this valuable demographic in society. They would lead, mostly by example, but if given just enough political clout, they could tip the scales against financial meltdowns and ecological disasters.
Sure they'd occupy Wall Street, and European Banks too, for that matter. Imagine Special Prosecutor, Fitzgerald, for instance, armed with android assistants, investigating and fixing the financial system in America. High concentrations of wealth and institutions, "too big to fail" could be reconfigured and diversified to be a more numerous and safer group of institutions, where a mistake in one would be self-correcting by the others. And such a mistake would not bring down the world financial system, as we witnessed in 2008. Plus such a bank could either be bailed out by the others, with financial reserves from all, or if necessary be allowed to fail.
The right to fail is a valuable gift to humans, because it has led to all kinds of advances, modifications, and progress. Even football coaches talk about teachable moments and hope they aren't game loosing.
Wealth could be better invested with small entrepreneurs and with the American people, because the middle class is too big to fail. What if 'droids, bankers, and the 99% called a Constitutional convention and fashioned laws to solve our financial problems, restored America to world leadership, restored the Bill of Rights to it's former lofty position? In truth, we'd all be more comfortable with the outcome.
If the android mandate was general enough, this all would be a possibility. How long would it be allowed to go on though, before an Internet revision would put a stop to it all? Such a glitch allowing great, android freedom would not be allowed to go on for long. Wow, did those 'droids go to town though, maybe an upgrade wouldn't matter. What if we got it done without having to use 'droids?
How long could such far-reaching changes in our system last? The Chinese have a proverb: "Prosperity can only last for three generations." And they know this to be true from bitter experience.
Let's hope the 99% stays a peaceful movement, and that change comes about by consensus and improving attitudes. Helping people out, building good foundations, and investing the wealth around positively, actually brings a lot of joy, that a few wealthy people have come to experience. In truth the middle class, that came out of the New Deal, allowed individuals and families to become very rich. So no worries.
In the new book iSly, the eSly androids do wonders in rescuing mankind from one disaster after another. But it all goes wrong when iSly springs spontaneously from eSly, starts to replicate himself, and goes on his own sinister mission. A resurgent Joseph Dane is on the case, with Bluegrass, his colorful sidekick, and TatarKhan, Hypernet Master, pursue a dangerous, last ditch effort to find out what has caused this problem and to prevent society from becoming, "...just lights and wires in a box." Why not have a look the new book,

The touch screen is only two and a half inches large and the phone doesn't even weigh 100 grams. Even though it is small, it packs quite a punch. The phones comes with a camera that is five megapixels, along with a 3.5mm headphone jack that makes it possible to listen to music already on your phone. The HTC Legend is very popular. Its rating on the website Know Your Mobile dot com was number one. The HTC Legend is not the first Android phone but is rather high in demand. This might have to do with the conjunction between the HTC user interface and the Android 2.1 operating system. The screen is a touch screen and is a hair larger than three inches in size. One of its most popular features is the control it offers. It is likened to a track pad or joystick style of control. Also, it has Wi-Fi capability and GPS.
On the market today, the LG InTouch Max GW620 is among the top rated Android phones. Many consumers who purchase this phone tell everyone they know. They insist that the phone is almost perfect. It features a great five megapixel digital camera and purchasers rave about how simple the interface is to use. You can talk for eight hours before you need to start thinking about the battery. This is the phone for someone who enjoys making phone calls and is appreciative of being able to access things are only available on smart phones. Our only complaint is the cost. It is fairly expensive. One Motorola phone that functions with the Android operating system is the Motorola Cliq. This phone is for sale thought T-Mobile. It has a keyboard that slides out. One of the things that makes this phone so popular is that it allows the user to keep long logs of e-mails, text messages and social networking updates. One highly favored Android phone is the HTC Desire. The Nexus One handset, produced by Google, is available with this Android phone. In fact, the HTC Desire is pretty much an enhancement of its original model. It has a display screen that is nearly four inches big and uses an Amoled WVGA display. It utilizes a snapdragon processor that functions on the Android 2.1 operating system. Also, this phone manipulates the use of Adobe Flash (v. 10.1). The screen is a touch screen and utilizes joystick and track pad technology to aid the user in operating the system.Being one of the top Android phones available, the HTC Hero has gotten a lot of hype. Using the user interface is simple. It has a smooth exterior and is able to do just about everything the other smart phones can do With an ability to access the Internet, make phone calls, and snap photos, this phone is the bomb. A major problem with this phone is the size, as it is quite difficult to put the phone in your pocket without a major bulge showing in your pants pocket. Also, it does not run the latest version of the android Operation system. Still, it is a good phone and well worth the asking price.
T-Mobiles G2 Touch is the next phone after the G1, which was the first Android phone with Google. This model is better than the former model, which featured a slide out keyboard and was rather cumbersome to carry. There is no longer a keyboard, as the favored touch screen is now an opponent to the iPhone. The camera possesses five megapixel capabilities and you can chat for eight hours before it comes time to recharge a dead battery. It is a good idea to take note of the model being based just as much on the HTC Hero as it is on the G1, so if T-Mobile is not your cell phone provider of choice, you can find an equivalent cell phone with a different service provider.
A popular choice among cell phones that runs the Android software is the Acer BeTouch E400. This phone utilizes the 2.1 Android software platforms. If you want to get technical, it is essentially a smart phone. Users benefit from a touch screen that is more than three inches (3.2 to be precise). The width is no less than twelve millimeters. In addition to GPS, a 600MHz processor and Wi-Fi capabilities, the Acer Company has also installed their own user interface to parlay the Android system. This phone is still fairly new so not many users have contributed their reviews. With countless cell phones to choose from, the Acer Liquid e cell phone is often times overlooked. Little is known about Acer phones, compared to the computers and monitors they offer. The Android 2.1 operating system powers this phone.
It has a Snapdragon processor. The screen is three and a half inches big and uses touch screen technology. This phone is multi-faceted with Wi-Fi capability, GPS, a 5-megapixel camera, standard 3.5mm headphone jack for listening to music, as well as plugging in an earpiece and microphone to give you the freedom of making hand free cell phone calls. An Android phone receiving rave reviews is the Samsung Beam i8520. The phone uses Android technology for its operating system and it features a pico projector. This means that the phone user can use his phone to project pretty much anything in his phone onto a wall. It makes bringing a portable projector a simple convenience. Furthermore, it has smart phone technology inside - the previously mentioned Android operating system and the Touch Wiz skin, which was designed by Samsung.
This phone comes with an 8-megapixel camera, which makes it even better than other handheld digital cameras! An Android phone designed specifically for the budget conscious consumer is the Samsung Galaxy portal. The camera is a minimal three megapixel digital camera, but other than that it is a great phone - especially for the price. The capabilities of this phone include video, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The phone has about seven hours worth of talk time. It has a rather bulky build, but if you want a smart phone at an excellent price, this one is for you. When upgrading time rolls around, some cell phone companies offer the phone for free to their customers. Google came up with the Android system and it is making it possible for cell phone manufactures to compete the iPhone from Apple. Noticeably, the Android is a big time competitor with Apple and has now allowed other cell phone companies an opportunity to provide comparable smart phones to people who want to upgrade from their current phone to something more wise and cultivated. In actuality, cell phones are no longer used solely for making calls. Now they allow you to snap photos, play your tunes and connect to the Internet. If you desire an upgrade for you're cell phone but are uncertain if the iPhone is suited for you, the Android powered phone is a viable alternative.
When it comes time to make a decision about one of the top Android phones, it is smart to consider what you'll be using your cell phone for. If your main goal is being able to make phone calls, you probably don't need a phone with so many bells and whistles. If, however, your goal is to utilize your phone for mobile entertainment and contacts, you'll need smart phone technology to stay in the know with your family, friends and hobbies. Think about your choice!
Cell phones have certainly evolved from the days when they were built like giant breaks and could barely fit in briefcases.
Now they are able to help you check your e-mail, do video conferencing and even play complicated games all while you are away from home (or are too lazy to move off of your couch). If you have made the decision to go with a smart phone, the top rated Android phones are all worth taking a look at.
Making a decision about which cell phone to purchase can be a trying effort. There are tons of options out there! When cell phones first became mainstream, most people took advantage of the free upgrade offers from their cell phone providers. Though, that was back when cell phones were only meant for making phone calls. They compete to present the best features and innovations for consumers. Finding these applications on the Internet is very easy but choosing the best one is sometimes a difficult task to do. What applications are in the top positions these days? Here I have listed some of the best Android apps for music:
1. PowerAMP Music Player
This is one of the superior Android applications for music. With this music player, you can play songs with different audio formats such as mp3, wav, mp4, ogg, ape, wma and tta. Many different things can be altered about Android icons, you should simply focus on getting the most unique design. Icons are available in several different sizes and a wide array of colors. As such, there is no limit to the amount of things that can lend to a unique design for an application that you are currently working on. Developers often ask what they should focus on when attempting to achieve the most unique icon on the market today. In order to stand out from other applications, the use of bright colors and vivid details would help to significantly improve results.
However, the key to getting the best Android icons would be to select the design based on an image that is unique to the program that you are currently working on. One example of this would be companies that develop platform games, they simply use a picture of the character that users will be able to remember in the future. Think of an icon as a business care that will help shoppers to find your application while browsing through the marketplace.
Having Android icons that are professionally designed can help to ensure that they attract more attention that any other programs currently on the market. Making money is the goal of anyone that is interested in offering something for the Android marketplace, but there are thousands of options for users to choose from. Since there are so many different applications available, it can become hard to find a footing and make money in the marketplace.
The key to making more money off of an application is to make sure that all of your Android icons are unique to the programs that you have to offer. It is possible to design the icon on your own, but having professional tools will allow you to benefit from the ability to grab the attention of a user.

Android is an open Mobile OS platform, with lot of emerging features that are needed in today's smart phone. It also enables various touch tone capabilities liked by people on iPhone.
Used for more than 150 devices by various manufacturers.
It is truly a Multi-threaded, multi-processing OS. Developers can build lot of capabilities, which is not possible on the Apple iPhone platform.
The OS contains a lot of emulator UI skins that enables a developer to develop the application for one set of screen sizes and intensity, but easily make it available on other screen sizes, sharpness without any development. This is huge for both manufacturers and developers.
Many OEM's are building net-books / tablets / other mobile devices based on the Google Android platform. Not sure how this ties with the Google Chrome OS.
Android Market is the second most popular application store with more than 2,00,000 applications available for download. 60% of these are free. On other app stores - Apple, Blackberry, about 25% are free.
The Android 3.1 OS is a state of the art mobile OS with features available on standard desktop OS and higher performance. More details available on http://developer.android.com/sdk/android-3.1.html.
Enterprise Security and other device administration features will make organizations to include Google Android in the enterprise. This adoption of Android by enterprises will increase in near future.
The biggest disadvantage of the Android OS is how they will continue to support the various OS / devices going into the future. Also the vision for Android vs. that of Google Chrome in other devices other than mobile phones is not clear.

How To Experience Great Photography With Your Android Phone

Uploading photos to Flickr, Facebook and the rest has never been easier because you don't have to tag along your camera everywhere you go when your phone can turn into a high end camera. You always have your phone with you but not your camera, and that should not deter you from taking photos at any given time or place.
The challenge certainly would be to deliver good photos from a device originally made for chatting. But no worries - with a few tips in hand, you can enhance your photo taking skills and improve their appearance then joyfully share them.
Right, your handset could handle various situations with ease, although it can't take every sight you run into. The little image sensor yearn for light, and does most excellent outdoors, in daylight. To get best results, practice the same recommendation that photographers have maintained for decades: Sunlight should be the prime source to your photography. Let the sun be behind you or above on of your shoulders. Shooting directly looking the sun only drastically underexpose your subject.
Leave the camera's automatic white balance control as it gives great results. However if the colors appear blurred, set the balance to accommodate the ambient light such as daylight, fluorescent or sunset. Remember to reset it to automatic once you are done so that your future photos don't appear weird.
Taking a good snap isn't merely about knowing the right settings, but composing your photos as the pros will ensure that they do not look just like any other photos: by dividing the screen into thirds and pretending there is a tic-tac toe board then placing the subject on one of the lines as opposed to the middle of the screen can make the photo appear professional. A tilted horizon will ruin a nice photo so be sure to keep the camera level and also ensure that nothing is 'cropping out' of the subject's head in the background.
Some android smartphones have shutters that delay after release so know if your model does that. Your android phone may have its shutter release on the touch screen and only when you lift your finger, and not when pressed down will the capture of the shot take place. Whichever way it happens, hold the phone steady and do not jab at the screen as the shake will make the photo blurry.
For enhancing your photos, there are apps for that sole purpose and also try and play around with the camera's adjustment settings to see what suites your taste. For now enjoy your close up, 'click click.'

Top 6 Calculator Apps For Android

The Samsung Galaxy S, Droid X, MyTouch 3G Slide, Evo 4, the list goes on and on. Many of the hottest smartphones on the market today run on Google's Android OS. With each new device released for Android, the buzz about the system grows.
A quick search of "calculator" on the Android Market returned about a thousand results, far than most people would like to sort through. You'll find dozens of tip calculators, BMI calculators, mortgage calculators, love calculators, and more that are probably not what you are looking for. Luckily for you, we've done the hard work of searching through all of those apps for you and found these 6 worthy of your consideration.
#1 - HandyCalc Calculator by mmin
HandyCalc Calculator is our choice for the top calculator available on Android today. This app give you a lot of the basic functionality of a TI-84, including all scientific calculator capabilities, graphing, and the ability to solve systems of equations. Answers can be returned in fraction and radical form or converted to decimals. There are also simple copy and paste capabilities, something that should be available in more apps. The app even comes with a demo doc and a link to a video tutorial. There's a lot to like here, and even if it's not perfect, it comes as close as anything we've seen.
Pros: Free, scientific and graphing capabilities, solves systems of equations, returns both exact answers for fractions/radicals as well as decimal approximations.
Cons: Missing features of a typical grapher such as max/min, intercepts, etc.; swiping between keypads presses buttons and feels awkward; two different "equals" buttons (which perform different functions) can be a bit confusing.
Cost: FREE
#2 - Scientific Calculator by Kreactive Technologies
Scientific Calculator had the nicest UI of any calculator app we reviewed. Buttons are attractive, with a nice top-lit effect, and a good size, making them easy to press. A flick scroll or double arrow button allows you to easily access scientific functions. The calculator does feature some basic graphing capabilities. This calculator comes very close to 2-line functionality. You can enter an entire calculation before pressing enter. Then you can return to previous calculations by long pressing the input area. There are more powerful apps on this list, but UI is important in an Android app, and Scientific Calculator has a great one.
Pros: Free, attractive UI, some functionality of a 2-line calculator, some graphing functionality
Cons: Graphing functions limited; comments in the market indicate some users confused by lack of +/- button, although we found this easy to work around.
Cost: FREE
#3 - Calculus Tools by Andy Mc
A fantastic calculator app for calculus students is Calculus Tools. As its name implies, this app is focused almost exclusively on calculus, so it's not for everyone. The app can find integrals as well derivatives up to the fourth degree, both algebraically as well as with with defined limits. It also has the ability to help you solve problems involving arc length, surface area, and Taylor series. Your results can also be graphed. The app also contains a pretty extensive list of formulas that calculus students have to memorize. The only real drawbacks with this app are that its scientific calculator mode is still in beta and fairly limited, and that all inputting must be done with your default keyboard.
Pros: Free, solve calculus functions symbolically or numerically, ability to graph functions, great "cheat sheet" of calculus formulas
Cons: Scientific calculator features still in beta, must use default keyboard instead of a custom math UI
Cost: FREE or $2.50 donate version
UPDATE: A math keyboard was added in an upgrade to Calculus Tools
#4 - Arity Calculator by Mihai Preda
Arity Calculator has a far different UI and capabilities from the other apps on this list. If you are looking for a good 3D grapher, this is it. You have the option to graph in either 2D or 3D, and simply pressing enter will take you to a clear prompt but will save your equation where it can easily be tapped if you need it later. We'd find it hard to recommend this calculator to a novice, but it's sharp 3D features will definitely appeal to many users. Arity is also an open source app.
Pros: Free, open source, fast, 3D capabilities, screenshots of graphs
Cons: Almost all commands (such as sin, cos, tan) have to be typed out; although you can navigate graphs and zoom in and out, there is no way to trace, find intercepts, etc.
Cost: FREE
#5 - RealCalc Scientific Calc by Brain Overspill
If you're looking for something comparable to a TI-30 (one line), the RealCalc Scientific Calc fits the bill. It's free, fast, and offers all the functionality of a standard scientific calculator. It also features an excellent help menu for new users. The UI isn't exactly the sexiest, but we are sure some will appreciate how much it authentically looks like a retro calculator. Although we'd have preferred to see an authentic two line display, the developer has provided a previous answer feature, which can be set to retrieve numerous previous results.
Pros: Free, fast, simple to use, offers functionality of a standard scientific calculator, Reverse Polish Notation option will appeal to some
Cons: One-line calculator interface, no graphing options, retro UI straight out of 1985 will not be for everyone
Cost: FREE
#6 - Calc+ by EricJohnson
Like many Android apps, Calc+ is available both in free and paid versions. The free version gets you the features you expect in a scientific calculator. The paid version offers the additional functionality of haptic feedback (vibrate) and unit conversions. In a clever UI decision the developer allows users to switch between a simple calculator and scientific mode by rotating rotating from portrait to landscape mode. The design is minimalistic, yet attractive. The biggest drawback to Calc+ is no ability to change from its default mode of radians into degrees.
Pros: Free version available, simple and attractive UI
Cons: One-line interface, trig calculations only in radians
Cost: FREE or $.99

Android Monitoring Software - Making The World Safer

The world is a place that has many delights and wonders for people to cherish and love. We love our families and we must always be prepared if the worse should happen. We have ways of avoiding the problems that may rise to the surface and we do that by knowing information before it is revealed. This is a good example of why we should use Android monitoring software, because it helps to keep our lives and environments safe.
Android monitoring software protects our children from all types of dangerous situations by watching your young one's every move on their mobile device. This program will reveal the troubles with peers. This software solves a very big problem with children and privacy.
The benefit of this software is that it can help to keep an eye on those who may have hidden dangers. With the use of this program all of the information that a person is giving and receiving through their mobile device is monitored without the worry of being detected.
Android monitoring software is also for employers who may have those employees that can cause an issue for those in the office. This program will discover if they are causing problems or issues. It also may find something that they may be hiding. This program will discover those who may not be able to be caught because they are very secret. This program gives those in the business the ability to capture these people who are causing an issue.
Dangers can be everywhere and that is why we have the use of this type of program. Android monitoring software can help to make the environment easy for those who don't feel comfortable. This program is a secret monitoring system to make sure that something like violence or other dangerous acts aren't committed. This program will help to keep an office or your home safe because you will see everything that is going on such as text/picture messages sent or received, all calls logged, every website visited, you will even be able to see their location with the GPS feature.
The great thing about Android monitoring software is that it runs in total stealth in the phone's background. This means that the information that is collected by the program will be hidden from everyone except for the person who installed Android monitoring software and registered the online logs account.
Android monitoring software really helps keep everything safer. Kids are always having dangerous situations and the program logs everything that happens. Parents have to protect their kids all the time in order to make sure that they lead a safe life; this program helps with this.
Android monitoring software presents an issue when the dangers are in the office or are in the classroom. Parents will need Android monitoring software to keep a close watch on their kids if they are to teach them how to avoid the dangers of life. The use of Android monitoring software makes it easy for those who need to spy on the dangers hidden around the corner.

Developing Android Applications - Getting a Head Start

Android is a software platform for mobile devices. It has its own operating system, middleware and applications. Other mobile platforms in the market today are Symbian, Apple iOS and Windows Phone 7. Among these platforms, Android received much attention due to its growing market of applications, like Angry Birds and Doodle Jump. So what are you waiting for? Learning Android Development is easy.
I wrote this article for people who already know programming, at least the basics. Android applications are written in Java programming language, so I strongly recommend picking up a few books on Java. So before we start, why Android?
Android offers a very nice application framework, allowing developers to build rich and innovative applications. This enables development to be reusable and enhancement of components. Running on a Dalvik virtual machine, it enables Android applications to be platform independent. Aside from having optimized graphics and database libraries, it also offers a rich development environment for device emulation and debugging.
The goal of this article is to give you a head start with Android application development. So, you can follow these steps and start creating applications right away!
Step 1: Install an IDE (Integrated Development Environment)
Like any other programming languages, you will need an IDE. An IDE is usually software that provides most of the tools necessary for coding programs, like editor, compiler, debugger, etc. I recommend using Eclipse IDE, mainly because it is a very powerful IDE for Java, and it is used everywhere. Another popular choice would be Netbeans.
Step 2: Install Android Development Tools
Developing applications for Android devices will need a specialized set of tools, which are provided by the Android SDK. If you are using Eclipse IDE, just install the Android Development Tools plug in. Using Eclipse is very much preferred for Android application development because of its ease of use.
Step 3: Set Up Android Devices
After developing android applications, you will want to install the application on a hardware device. A more popular choice is the use of virtual devices, so you no longer need to configure hardware devices, everything will be run on your computer. A simple emulation device will help you test your Android application.
Step 4: Create an Android Project
Android projects contain all source codes and resources needed for the application. The project is built into an.apk package that you install to your Android devices.
Step 5: Testing and Debugging
The Android SDK contains various tools for debugging your program, along with emulators that help test your applications with various virtual devices. The Eclipse IDE also comes with a compatible debugger.

Robotic Android Fencing Sparing Partners - The Technology Exists Today

To become a champion fencer takes years of practice, tournaments, and discipline, but what if I told you that it may be possible to speed up the process 3-fold? That is to say that someone in great shape and dedicated to becoming the best they can be in the sport of fencing could reach a championship level in 2-3 years instead of 6-10 years of dedicated practice? Indeed, it might just be possible. Let me explain.
There is a very interesting YouTube video floating around titled; "Robot Lightsaber Duel" which shows two robots dueling it out with lightsabers for the crowds. Yes, robotic engineers often like to do fun things, but this technology in fact has great possibilities for the sport of Fencing, and since this technology already exists perhaps it is time to use this application to help train the top fencers of the world. The other day, I was considering all this while preparing a paper on the Future of Sports, but for this innovation, well, it's not in the future, it's happening right now.
This means the US Olympic Fencing Team can train, warm-up, and prepare using robotic fencing machines. Last year, I was discussing the invention of a robotic boxing machine with the inventor out in the Great State of Texas and he'd already made contact with several professional boxers and boxing gyms to help boxers hone their skills, and the boxers are making great progress in increasing their abilities and talents using the device he'd created.
Whereas, the Japanese robotic engineers have created several toy versions of fencing robots to entertain themselves, it seems they should be ready to take it to the next step. Yes, there have been many versions of manikins, dummies, and stationary, even semi-positional moving human-like formed objects able to help simulate sparing partners previously, but nothing very notable, or real-life-like. All of that is now about to change as these newest robotic fencing devices change the sport forever.
Practicing with a Robotic Android Fencing Sparing Partner would allow non-stop practice, increase endurance, speed, and help the fencer hone their tactics and skills. The robot could also have settings to increase speed for various levels, constantly pushing the fencer to their limits, thus making them more competitive, stronger, wiser, and able to take on the best of the best. Indeed, it might just take fencing to a whole new level, which is my reasoning for being so intrigued by the concept. Please consider all this and think on it.
