Andriod Tablets For 2012

For all the android tablet lovers, 2012 is packed with many surprises. The first among the launchers of android tablet in 2012 is going to be technology giant Intel. Intel representatives have revealed some tidbits about the release of Medfield Atom Android Tablet by their collaboration with Google and Honeycomb. The Medfield prototype android Honeycomb for now is being showcased along with a slideshow. Its performance appears to be outstanding and the design is very sleek and amazing having a lot of resemblance with BlackBerry Playbook tablet, said Lisa Zhou, PR manager of Ankaka.com.

Another attraction to look for is Game Stop's android Tablet which is likely to hit the stores in 2012 as well. It is widely rumored that the android tablet of GameStop will be a successful release and will include all the powerful features such as spontaneous interface, a protected purchase organization, excellent streaming and perfect tablet functions. The tablet will be pre-loaded with games and will utilize Game Stop's streaming ability to move console games to the Tablet. In addition, a gossip in the air is that Motorola is planning to release a brand new android tablet for 2012 with extra high quality resolution screen after the success of Motorola Xoom. To beat Apple iPad2 Motorola has put much effort in this tablet. It is going to have a 10 inch screen with a high resolution of 2048 x 1536 making it one of the best quality screen and display devices ever to have been launched.

The popularity and future success of android tablets can be seen by the fact that android shipments are likely to increase by 130% by the next year as compared to Apple's iPad shipments which are estimated to increase by 55% according to android news and forums.

According to analysts, Apple's iPad will still capture the market of android tablets in the year 2012. But Samsung, LG and Motorola's android tablets are going to give a tough competition to iPad. It is also rumored that Microsoft will soon manufacture its own android powered tablets as next generation of Microsoft windows. Just like Android phones have outshined Apple's iPhones and are sold more than them, in the same way android tablets are going to outsell Apple's iPad by the year 2012. Even if it isn't true, Apple must be vigilant to have a tough competition for tablets in future.

Another highlight is that USSA (US Cellular Announcements) have announced a release of seven Android phone tablets in the year 2012. It will include a 7-inch android tablet called Flyer by HTC. It will also include Motorola's 4.3 inch android tablet phone with 1 GHz processor speed. LG will announce one of the most sleekest and lightest in design android tablet phone which will have 4inch touch screen display. best iphone apps 2011

This year has been an innovative year for the iPhone as applications push the iPhone's capabilities to the limits! Regardless of who you are, there are just some iPhone apps that are enjoyed by nearly everyone. Here are ten of highest rated iPhone applications around and best of all nearly all of them are available completely free!
Pandora Radio Price: FREE
If you enjoy music the least bit then this may be the program that takes care of everything you need. First of all the Pandora app is free to download! That's always a good start. Pandora essentially allows you to pick a genre of music that you enjoy and it plays songs based upon your choice. Don't like a song you hear? Give it a thumbs down and you'll never hear it again. The more you use Pandora, the more it learns you and your musical interest so that after a while you'll enjoy just about any song you come across. It surprised me how many of my friends had never used or even heard of Pandora but now nearly everybody I know has adopted it.
Wikipanion App Price: FREE
A world of knowledge at your fingertips. That's what Wikipedia gives computer users everywhere and now its available for your iPhone. What more could be said other than having a complete self updating encyclopedia on your iPhone will come in handy when the time comes to check some facts. In addition, the Wikipedia app has one very cool feature. Hit a button and it will pull up all the information it has about where you're at. Visiting the Golden Gate Bridge and want to know more about it? Well, just fire up the app and enjoy your virtual tour!
IMDb App Price: FREE
Quick! What's the casting lineup in "The A-Team" or when is "Ghost Busters 3" finally supposed to come out? This app gets its biggest workout around the water cooler at work. Become an instant movie guru with quick access to info on any movie released! When you get tired of schooling others, check out the "trailers" page for the latest on the new flicks coming out!
Angry Birds Price: $0.99
The best-selling, most downloaded and arguably most addicting game released for the iPhone, "Angry Birds" is by far the biggest time waster on my phone. The basics of the game is this: Shoot angry birds out of a slingshot at structures filled with egg stealing green pigs! Each angry bird has different abilities. (One bounces around after landing, another plows right through anything in its way and so on.) Angry Birds is this decade's Tetris. For less than one dollar, the price is right too!

Dropbox App Price: FREE
Some of the best applications are those that are useful even when you don't have your iPod/iPad around and "Dropbox" is one of those applications. This application stores files remotely and lets you access or download them to your iPod from anywhere! With Dropbox, you can use your iPod memory for more useful items like more apps! Dropbox also has one button sharing capabilities allowing you to share audio, video, pdf, txt, image files and more with a single click! Finally, by being able to upload files from your computer to Dropbox and then accessing them via the iPhone, it allows easy transfer of files between computer and iPod from anywhere!
VLC Media Player Price: FREE
One of the major complaints of the iPhone is its lack of video and audio playing capabilities. Unless you are viewing your media through one of the few supported Apple extensions, you're pretty much out of luck until now. VLC media player will play just about any kind of audio or video format you throw at it. It supports drag and drop playing, conversions, and an option list that's easy enough for novices but with enough advanced features to keep even the best video gurus pleased.
Facebook App Price: FREE
When the Facebook App first came out a while ago, it was completely shunned. It ran slow, didn't integrate well and left out many features to be desired. This week, Facebook just launched the next edition of its Facebook App and its no wonder why the Facebook App is the most used application in existence. With over 300 million mobile users now, Facebook has and will continue to put major resources into improving and expanding the apps capabilities. In many ways, the current app makes Facebook more simple than it already is and being able to snap a shot with your camera and immediately post it to Facebook is the easiest way to share your photos.
Kindle App Price: FREE
You may ask yourself why get the Kindle application when a free e-book viewer "i-Book" that looks good and has an integrated store is available. Three words: "Selection and Features." The Kindle offers a massive choice of books compared to Apple's app and the reading experience is great. You can also buy e-books from amazon.com with the Kindle app's near flawless sync capabilities. A must for any reader.
Google Earth Price: FREE
Now you can hold the world in the palm of your hand, literally. With all the functions of the Google Earth computer application now on the iPhone, you can get satellite photos, driving directions and just plain kill time while waiting in a waiting room. One of the greatest features is the panoramic view. In this mode, you can hold the phone out in front of you and it'll tell you businesses or items of interest in that direction. For example, if you're sitting on your porch and there is a McDonald's a half mile from your porch... Just hold the phone out in front of you and it'll tell you "Keep traveling in that general direction and in a half mile you'll be at a McDonald's." As you spin around in a circle, other fast food joints pop up! Pretty cool stuff.
IM + AppPrice: FREE
If you're into instant messaging, IM+is for you! It gives you access to Yahoo, MSN/Live Messenger, GTalk, AIM/iChat, MySpace, ICQ, Facebook, Twitter and several more. With multitasking and push notifications in iOS 4, IM+ has been transformed from a curiosity into a gotta-have application, To have that many messaging services collectively under one roof is good enough! But one button messaging through multiple networks is icing on the cake! Its all I use anymore and it allows me to keep tabs on my friends spread throughout 3 networks.
If making IPod apps is something you're thinking of getting into here's where I learned: Check it out!
Hello, I'm a writer and I write for a living! I love writing. It is my passion! Hopefully, my experiences and knowledge can teach you something.

Apple iPhone 4 - Apps of the Year

There are plenty of things to look forward to if you're an Apple iPhone 4 user in 2011. The number of games and apps launched for the device is likely to be just as high as it was last year as their popularity continues to soar.
It was recently announced that the 10 billionth app had been purchased through the App Store and that the person who helped the outlet achieve this landmark figure had been rewarded with a $10,000 iTunes gift card. So with 160 million PAYG and Pay Monthly Apple device users now enjoying the benefits of everything from satellite navigation software to cookery guides - what apps came out at the top of the charts for 2010?
Well, the official top 10 of the year in terms of paid downloads had Angry Birds at number one, followed by Doodle Jump, Skee-Ball, Bejeweled 2 + Blitz, Fruit Ninja, Cut the Rope, All in One Gamebox, The Moron Test, Plants vs. Zombies and Pocket God. But when it came to free apps, the winner was Facebook, followed by Angry Birds Lite, Words With Friends Free, Skype, Tap Tap Revenge 3, The Weather Channel, Paper Toss, Bing, Rock Band Free and Talking Tom Cat.

However, experts across the world were also recommending their own best iPhone applications of the last 12 months as the year came to an end and, in many cases, there were titles being highlighted that didn't appear on the official most popular lists. In an article for TechCrunch, for example, Alex Ahlund placed Instagram at the top of his list, for its ability to make the most of your handset's camera technology. The app allows the user to take snaps and apply a range of visual effects to it and then post it to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, Tumblr, and Foursquare. "Instagram stands apart because of how easy it is to get a unique and professional result," he explained.
Elsewhere, a piece for blog on cherry noted Yelp as one of the most helpful pieces of software of 2010 for Apple iPhone users. This option lets you find and review restaurants, bars and other businesses as well as view other comments that have been added by others. Maps, contact details, street views and other augmented reality technology makes this something of an all-rounder that the site said could come in very handy.
Technology blog Cnet got a number of its editors to post their list online before getting its readers to vote. The result was a top 100 iPhone apps and a final 10 that saw mentions for IMDB, Evernote, Facebook, Dictionary.com, Alien Blue, Photoshop, Flight Control, Pandora and oo Tunes. However, the overall prize went to that iPhone users favourite - Angry Birds.

What's Better for Business - iPhone or Android Apps?

The popularity of mobile applications, or apps, has caused businesses of all types to try their hand at the mobile market. Creating a mobile app that ties in with your business can be a smart move, but it's not without some risk. Not only that, but knowing which of the two most popular mobile platforms to develop for can be a tricky decision to make.
Developing a Mobile App - Pros & Cons
Before creating an app for your business, it's important to make sure it's a good investment by weighing the benefits versus the drawbacks.
Pros:
- Provides better customer service, allowing users to access your business directly from their phone.
- Shows your business is modern
- Provides your business with more exposure by essentially advertising your company to anyone that browses the app store on their phone.
Cons:
- Requires a significant investment that may offer your business no additional revenue.
- Highly competitive app market means your app may not be downloaded.
- Very difficult to develop a mobile app that perfectly fits your business.

The iPhone
Once you've determined that a mobile app is a right fit, you'll have to choose which platform you want to release it on. The iPhone, due to its massive popularity, may seem like an obvious choice. For one, it has a huge install base that loves to download apps. Secondly, your app can be developed to work on any iPhone since they all have the same specifications. It does have its share of problems, however. For one, the iPhone app store is very competitive. The iPhone app store is significantly larger than the Android market, meaning you have less of a chance at competing. Secondly, while growth is high now for the iPhone, the market for Android-based phones is just beginning and growing at an exponential rate.
Android Phones
The main reason to choose to develop an app for the Android market is due to its growing user base. It has a huge install base of potential customers that continues to grow. Secondly, there is less competition in the Android market, giving your app a better chance to shine. Conversely, while the Android market share is widening, it is spread across hundreds of different phones. Making an app that works with all of them can therefore be tricky. Secondly, despite a large market share, the overall number of apps downloaded to Android phones is dwarfed by that of those downloaded to the iPhone. Even with no competition, your app still might not get downloaded.
Conclusion
If you are sure you want to develop a mobile app for your business, you're currently better off developing for the iPhone. It's overall simpler to develop for, it has a large install base, and its users are known to download a lot of apps. If your iPhone app is a success, however, consider creating an Android app to match. It's a growing market for website development that shouldn't be ignored.

iphone apps list

There are too many great iPhone apps to count. It is not as easy as some may think to find great ones, however. With such a large selection to choose from, how do you filter out the bad from the good? The top sellers in the app store is always a good place to start, but one good piece of advice I have is to ask your friends who also have the iPhone.
When it comes to my iPhone, here are some apps that I consistently use.
For getting my tech savvy gaming fix, I love to play cube runner. This game involves tilting the phone while you avoid big cubes coming toward your space ship. It is quite the difficult game, but is loads of fun. Another very fun iPhone game to play is Para Panic. This game has little paratroopers falling and you have to touch the screen to get them to fall on ships instead of falling in the sea and getting eaten by sharks. It is more fun than I make it sound.

When I am trying to get my fix of sports updates, the best app by far that I have found is ESPN's Score Center app. This thing provides real time updates and allows you to store all your favorite teams. Mobile banking is here to stay. Whichever bank you use (assuming it's a major one), there is probably an app that they offer. Take advantage of mobile banking, which allows you to schedule payments on your phone, or transfer money on the fly.
Finally, one app worth looking into is Red Laser. This innovation phone application amazingly allows you to scan bar codes of items and will even tell you locations that are close by where you can buy said product at the lowest prices. Of course, this article only skims the surface of some of the coolest iPhone apps out there.
When not giving his thoughts on tech products, this author frequently writes about various topics like wood floor refinishing and diesel exhaust.

The reason behind this is that there is no exit button or menu available for some of the applications. These types of applications remain alive on your phone and unnecessarily occupy precious space, consequently the performance of your phone becomes slower. There are some applications that remain alive and try to utilize the network connectivity, hardware functions and GPS and as a result they may drain the battery of the phone very soon. So, to address such problems one application has been introduced and that is Advanced Task Killer.

at&t iphone plans

AT&T fears the loss of its loyal customer base and is offering free microcell units to keep them. The microcell is actually a femtocell unit that AT&T normally sells for $199. They are offering it to some customers, but not all customers oddly enough, to keep them from defecting to Verizon now that Verizon has the iPhone. Out of desperation, AT&T is trying to woo potential defectors back into the fold.

What is a femtocell? According to Glen Fleishman, ARS Technica Gears & Gadgets, the femtocell technology is basically a small cellular base station designed to provide superior, short-range, indoor cellular coverage in a home or office. Fleishman says that the idea behind femtocells is simple: the hardware tries to capture the ease of setup of a Wi-Fi network while allowing seamless connectivity for existing cell phones. In non-geek speak, the femtocell makes the cellular signal stronger in your home or office. How many of you have to lean out of a window or walk outside to get a clear signal at home or at the office? But you dont have to be an AT&T customer to get a femtocell unit. Sprint and Verizon also offer their version.

Offering the free microcell units is backfiring on AT&T. The term free is probably a misnomer in this case. While AT&T is offering to give customers the microcell for free, the customer must sign a contract to stay with AT&T for at least 12 more months, or there is a stiff penalty to pay. In addition, there is a monthly service charge to have the service. AT&T customers are outraged in San Francisco and New York City, where service coverage is notoriously bad. The customers are protesting that AT&T is trying to sell them a service to make a service they already pay for workable.

Verizon sold out its new iPhone in 2 hours during its pre-sale. The first day of actual sales exceeded sales for any other device they have ever sold. Reports on performance of their new iPhone 3G show the Verizon iPhone loads web pages as fast as the AT&T iPhone 4G. With Verizon having the most reliable network in the US, why would anyone want to stay with AT&T? Apparently this thought has occurred to AT&T as well. Hence, the offer for the free femtocell unit.

Are you an AT&T customer? Have you received this generous offer? Whats your take on it?

new android apps

The Android Market is loaded with new apps. In fact, more programs are released every day. The Apple Store requires approval for all applications for the iPhone, but Android users can download them shortly after they have been finished by programmers.
This distinction affects both the availability of apps and the user experience for cell phone consumers. With such quick access to new applications, Android users can choose between an avalanche of new titles that come out nearly every day. To help you with choosing Android apps, this article discusses methodologies that you can use to sort through the clutter.
Free or Paid?
Some Android apps are available for free. To use others, you may be required to pay a download fee. There are also apps that require subscriptions. Before choosing an application, it is important to set a budget and decide how much you are willing to spend.
Free applications often have similar features to paid ones, so don't presume that the most expensive apps are always the best. Luckily, the Android Market interface allows you to browse between user ratings and reviews. This will help you figure out which Android apps are considered the best by other mobile phone users.

Read Third-Party Reviews of Apps
Tech blogs, magazines, and other media outlets cover new technological devices. Some even specialize in the provision of reviews of applications for popular smartphones. When making any shopping decision, it is crucial to consider the unbiased opinions of professional reviewers. They have far more time to play with Android apps, and their advice might save you some trouble.
Some new apps will have few reviews, and it is important to evaluate whether or not the existing ratings seem genuine. This may present some challenges when you are trying to determine the value of a very recent release.
Find Apps That Make Life Simpler
When choosing Android apps, think about programs that might exist that could assist you with specific tasks that you carry out each day. This thought process should lead you to a few keywords that you can use to search the Android Market.
Your phone's interface should allow you to search from all the available apps by simply keying in a relevant phrase. When you have a general idea of what you want, it is easy to find new applications in this manner.
New Android Market applications are being released on an ongoing basis. With these search tips, you can easily find some useful programs that are compatible with your smartphone.
