What Does the Red Light Mean on the HTC HD2?

The HD2 HTC smart phone, available with the T-Mobile network, offers multimedia messaging, GPS and access to the Internet. One of those features includes a light emitting diode notification at the top of the screen and one on top of the phone itself. This light may flash from green to amber and even red, when it is experiencing a problem or you have several notifications

  1. Charging Issues

    • When the battery is fully charged, the LED emits a green light. When the battery wears down, it emits an amber light, meaning there’s only 20 percent of the battery left. When there is a 10 percent charge left, the light changes to red. If there is an issue with the charging process, the light will blink red. If this happens, confirm there are no bent pins in the connection between the phone and the charger. If the charger has bent pins, it cannot deliver the charge to the phone sufficiently.

    Multiple Notifications

    • The HD2 HTC smart phone uses the LED element at the top of the phone screen to inform you of messages. When you receive a new message, the LED emits a green light. In the case of multiple missed notifications, this light may turn to a blinking red light to let you know to check your messages. You will need to check voice, text and email messages and clear this for the light to stop blinking.

    Third-Party Applications

    • Sometimes the red warning light means an application is causing a problem. Because the T-Mobile HTC HD2 phone works with third-party applications, sometimes one of these applications can conflict with the phone’s software or another application resulting in the red light. Close out each open application one at a time and pay attention to the light. If it goes out after a specific application is closed, this is the problem application.

    Bad Battery

    • If the HTC HD2 battery is not working properly, the red light will blink or come on. When you are charging the HTC HD2, until the phone accepts a charge, the light will stay red, as it charges the light will change. If you’ve charged it for three hours and the warning light stays red, the battery may require replacement or is causing the phone to overheat. At this point, replace the battery to see if that works, if it does not, the phone requires service.

at&t iphone

Both the iPhone and the Tilt are AT&T smartphones (at least in the United States), however, the overall main difference between the iPhone and the AT&T Tilt, according, at least, to the way the two devices are being marketed, is that the iPhone is being targeted more towards the consumer-user and the AT&T Tilt towards the business-user. Both smartphones, however, have excellent qualities appealing to both types of users.

Both the AT&T Tilt and the iPhone are touch screen smartphones, though the iPhone touch screen can be controlled by your fingers whereas controlling the AT&T Tilt touch screen requires using the included stylus. Beyond the touch screen, the iPhone has a single multi-purpose navigator button while the AT&T Tilt has several additional buttons.
Unlike the iPhone, the AT&T Tilt sports a unique screen design that allows users to slide out a full QWERTY keyboard from behind the main casing and tilt the display upwards so the user can view and control the phone similarly to the way one would a laptop or PC. The iPhone is a single candy bar unit with no sliding parts, though both the iPhone and the AT&T Tilt can be turned sideways for a widescreen view of the display screen as an alternative to the standard portrait.
The weaknesses of the feature-rich iPhone are in the way of the basic, essential functions of a smartphone - call quality and speed of the data network. Even though the AT&T Tilt uses the same EDGE data network as the iPhone, the Tilt has a wider array of wireless options available, including access to the 3G network, a feature the current generation of iPhone's cannot claim (though a 3G iPhone is reportedly in the works). Also, according to a perusal of online customer feedback, the Tilt also boasts superior call quality over the iPhone. Having said that, however, the iPhone has up to 480 minutes of talk-time whereas the max talk time on the AT&T Tilt is only about half that.
In the way of features, the digital camera on the AT&T Tilt is 3.0 megapixels while the iPhone's is only 2.0 megapixels. The Tilt includes a GPS but the iPhone does not. The call history on the Tilt is more substantial, indicating talk time duration and other details not available in the iPhone's call history. Likewise, the Tilt displays a distinction between calls received and calls made whereas the iPhone does not. The processor on the AT&T Tilt is significantly slower than that of the iPhone, with a much higher tendency to freeze up and necessitate a reboot. The iPhone has a much larger built-in storage capacity (at 4-8 GB) while the AT&T Tilt can only hold 128 MB.
The major sweeping difference between the two devices is that the iPhone runs on Apple's Mac OS X while the AT&T Tilt runs on Windows Mobile 6 Professional, which is tantamount to the difference between any Mac PC or laptop and the equivalent Windows PC or laptop. So the AT&T Tilt offers users, for example, the full Windows Office Mobile suite of programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) while iPhone users benefit from all the innovative software resulting from the newly issued iPhone SDK (software development kit). The bottom line here is that, since most computer-users classify themselves as either Mac-people or Windows-people, the decision as to which device is "better" really boils down to one's personal preference between Mac and Windows.
The AT&T Tilt sells for at least $100 less than the iPhone.

refurbished iphone

Why? Because they are rebuilt and upgraded with the latest bells and whistles and usually were previously unused. These refurbished iPhones may have been returned for various reasons and usually are still under the manufacturers original warranty. For instance, an Apple iPhone may have never been touched by a consumer and was a quality control model that was tested and put through many tests at the factory. It would be sold as a refurbished Apple iPhone rather than a new one even though it was never used.

An AT&T refurbished iPhone may have just been a floor model and as a refurbished iphone it is a great bargain. Many times the package was opened and cannot be sold as new so the retail AT&T,or Apple iPhone dealer sends it back to the factory and it is repackaged and sold at a discount many times with upgrades added. Depending on which iPhone you are going to buy you can sometimes get a service contract that is as good as the original warranty.

Many refurbished products such as the Apple iPhone, or ATT iPhone 3G have sustained minor damage during shipping or perhaps just the outer packaging was torn or damaged. These will be sent back to the factory and repackaged and sometimes sold as refurbished iPhones. Usually the damage is very minor and cannot be seen yet they are just as good as brand new iPhones and after leaving the factory for the second time they are top quality iPhones at a discounted price.
Sometimes refurbished iPhones were floor models or demonstration models in the store. These are eventually sold as refurbished and great bargains are to be scooped up by savvy, price conscious or discount buyers looking for the best prices.
Whether your looking for an Apple iPhone, an AT&T iPhone or any unlocked iPhone refurbished model there are some great deals out there that will give you an one that is just as good as new at a price that can't be beat. Even older iPhones are now being upgraded and repackaged and are of the same or better quality than those sold as new. Refurbished iPhones are as good as new and are a better value.
For the money, a deal on iPhones can't be beat! Visit www.GotCheapiApplePhones.com to see our selection of discount new iPhones and refurbished iPhone choices.

android 2.3

Android 2.3 comes with rich multimedia capabilities that will thrill both the common users and the Android developers. With features like mixable audio effects, support for new media formats, access to multiple cameras, the new media framework offers a versatile multimedia experience. Android mobile applications can take advantage of these new and advanced Android 2.3 capabilities to offer a vivid multimedia ecosystem. Outsource Android development team can make use of these various features to enhance the complete multimedia experience.

Audio mixing
Android 2.3 is loaded with a new audio effects API. Android developers can utilize this API to create vivacious audio environments. Audio effects API allow developers to configure audio equalization, bass boost, headphone virtualization, etc. Multiple audio effects can be mixed in a local track or can be applied across multiple tracks globally.
New media formats support
Capturing high-quality audio is feasible with Android 2.3 platform through its support of AAC encoding and AMR wideband encoding in software. Further, support is in-built for VP8 open video compression format and WebM open container format. This support provided by Android 2.3 is expected to set standards for high-definition video playback. WebM lets users to play videos on Web sites like YouTube in the Android Web browser.
Usage of multiple cameras
Android 2.3 comes with the upgraded Camera API allowing the Android developer access to multiple cameras present on the Android device. Android developers can query the Android 2.3 platform regarding the number of cameras on the device and their specific characteristics and then choose to open a particular camera. This allows developers to utilize available resources depending on requirements such as using the back-facing camera with higher quality resolution for taking high-quality photographs or using the front-facing camera with lower quality resolution for video conferencing. The front-facing camera too now can shoot and record videos.
New media framework
This new media framework in Android 2.3 platform now replaces the Open Core whilst maintaining all the older codec/container support for encoding and decoding. Some amount of support is available for extra-large display devices like tablets and TVs, e.g., if you have a Samsung Galaxy Tab, Android 2.3 platform will let you make more use of the extra-large screen the way Google wants you to. The 2.3 platform supports video chat as well, although to use video chat on tablets, you need to install extra software add-ons. Multitasking allows the users to run simultaneous multimedia sessions such as sending mails, updating spreadsheets and watching favorite videos.

android tablet

The Android is a relatively new operating system which was designed for mobile devices such as cell phones, tablet computers, and netbooks. The Android OS is developed and designed by Google and is based upon GNU and Linux Kernel software. Statistics point out that the android tablet OS is ranked second among all smartphone OS handsets in North America.

The android OS will have many major advantages, such as Flash capabilities. While it is true that the internet itself is trying to limit its content which relies on Flash, the android OS is built on the idea of an open platform allowing anybody to add, or remove, whatever plugins they feel like. Unlike with Apple where all applications, programs, and addons are created by them and a user can only get just those programs. Apple's OS is quite intolerant of third party applications, the exact opposite is true of the android tablet OS which allows anybody to share with everyone what they have developed, even just for this reason alone, the android tablet is already better than the competition.
The android is also less restrictive about hardware and ports. Most android tablets come with USB ports and that alone is already a massive advantage to other tablet PCs as one would be able to use flash drives, keyboards, and all sorts of devices which plug into a USB port.
One slight drawback is that the android OS comes in different versions which have some slight differences among them. But this problem is easily fixed as all one needs to do is upgrade to the latest version of the OS. Another drawback is that it may appear a bit daunting or intimidating to those who are not used to working with computers. Although to those who are used to it, this should actually come as an advantage as they are able to fully see just how powerful the android tablet OS is and can be.
While the android OS is not as stylish as its main rival and the fact that there are so many versions of it that may act to confuse the average user, it still has all the benefits of being more flexible and available on a variety of different devices. Its customizability is way ahead of its time and is its best feature. One who invests in an android tablet is sure to see that their money was definitely very well spent.

4g iphone

When Steve Jobs revealed the Apple iPhone 4G during his 2010 Keynote address, the announcement was met with much speculation and skepticism. Why now? Why so soon? Why the necessity? These are just some of the questions that greeted the advent of the newest model in Apple's flagship line.

But in this iPhone 4G review, we wish to assure you, the prospective end user, that the newest iteration of the popular handheld device truly, certainly, absolutely, undoubtedly ROCKS!
Stop asking how to afford an iPhone 4G. There are many ways to score a free iPhone 4G anyway, which we will discuss later on. For now, take a look at 10 fabulous reasons why you should own the next incarnation of the world's most popular mobile phone.
1. Video calling. This is, perhaps, the most exciting addition to the Apple iPhone 4G. With the addition of a front camera, video calling is now possible. You can use IM video conferencing, video calls allowed by your network, or Apple's proprietary video chat application, the iChat.
2. Sexier design. The iPhone 4G is said to be 25% lighter and thinner than previous models. Aesthetically, this would mean a sleeker, sexier design. Functionally, this would also mean that people with delicate hands - particularly females - will have an easier time handling the device.
3. Longer battery life. For this iPhone 4G review, the longer battery life promised by Apple is the clincher. After all, our enjoyment of this cellphone greatly depends on how long we can use it. With more than 30% battery life added to the unit, we can be guaranteed of a longer time in enjoying the new things that the iPhone 4G can offer.
4. Front cam applications. Of course, the front camera isn't only good for video calling. A slew of applications are now being developed to make good use of this new feature. Imagine, a game where you - with your exact likeness - would be the protagonist. Or a real time makeover app? The possibilities are endless.
5. Higher resolution. The unit boasts of a 960 x 540 resolution, a fantastic dimension for mobile devices. HD videos would look amazing on the iPhone 4G's new OLED screen. And with the improved HD audio playback promised by Apple, you can have a marvelous multimedia experience on the go!
6. Better camera. Improved to 5 megapixels, the newest version of the popular product just made an already impressive image capturing feature even more powerful and noteworthy! Also, the 4G model now has a flash!
7. Lower price, with no subscription plans. At $199 for 32GB and $299 for 64GB, this should put a stop to searches for answers to the question how to buy an iPhone without subscription. You're free to choose a telecommunications network you're comfortable with, and you won't have to worry about a restrictive lock-in period.
8. Better WiFi connectivity. The newest model will finally support 802.11n, which will make it at par with its current generation rivals, the Google Nexus One and HTC HD2.
9. Multitasking capabilities. Tired of having to close an app just to open up a new one? Well, the 4G model will finally, FINALLY allow you to multitask, i.e. to open up several applications simultaneously. This iPhone 4G review's reaction can be summarized in 3 words: it's about time!
10. The small things that pack a wallop. Unified mailbox. A folder for apps. New wallpaper and background options. True GPS built in. These are just some of the many more software additions to the model, making it the best iteration of the product to date.
So, what's the verdict of this Apple iPhone 4G review? Is Apple's newest product worth the purchase?
You can decide for yourself as you don't have to buy a unit. You can avail of the free iPhone 4G offer at http://www.get-free-iphone-4g.info by signing up to test the model and eventually owning the phone that will be given to you. No commitment necessary. iphone 4 verizon

Picking out a new case for your Verizon iPhone 4 can be a difficult task, especially if you have never owned an iPhone before. There are literally hundreds to choose from, and many of them look dangerously similar. Don't make the mistake of buying the wrong one for your new Verizon iPhone. You can avoid this by spending time researching the best iPhone 4 case brands and the cases that each brand offers. Some of the most popular brands include Otterbox, Incipio and i-Luv. All of these brands have a variety of styles in their line-up, which are all very different from each other.

Otterbox for iPhone 4
Otterbox has become the single-most popular brand of cases for all cell phones, especially iPhones. These have become so popular because they are basically indestructible and supply your iPhone with the ultimate level of protection. Think of these cases as if they are actual bodyguards for your iPhone.
Otterbox has currently only released one type of case for the new Verizon iPhone 4, but they promise more are on the way. This case is known as the iPhone 4 Defender Series case and will cost you around $49.95. This is a fairly high price point for iPhone 4 cases, but the high level of protection is well worth the few extra dollars.
Incipio for Verizon iPhone
Incipio is one of the newest iPhone case manufacturers on the block, but actually has the largest selection of Verizon iPhone cases available among all manufacturers. Their different cases currently include (from least expensive to most expensive): the dermaSHOT Silicone, the Feather Ultralight Hard Shell, the NGP Matte Semi-Rigid Soft Shell, the SILICRYLIC Hard Shell with Silicone Core, the EDGE Hard Shell Slider and last, but not least, the BOMBPROOF Silicone case. Now that is a large selection of cases!
Obviously, after looking at the picture of the BOMBPROOF by Incipio, you will see that it offers the highest level of protection among all the Incipio models, but also comes with the highest price tag. The most popular Incipio case for the Verizon iPhone 4 (determined by customer feedback) is the iPhone 4 feather Ultralight Hard Shell. This case is awesome because it has the perfect balance of protection and functionality. It's less than one millimeter thin, making it feel like you don't even have anything on your iPhone. The Incipio Feather is also reasonably priced at $24.99.
i-Luv iPhone Cases
i-Luv is one iPhone case maker that is loved by its customers. They mostly make simple cases in bright colors. Some of their most popular cases include their metallic case, flex-gel case and the most unique Verizon iPhone case on the market, the glow in the dark case. I-Luv's glow in the dark case was sold out before it was even in stock, but is now available for purchase!

iphone 4 case

iPhone from Apple has revolutionized the world of smart phones. There are very few products today which can compete with an iPhone on the basis of its applications and technology. Acquiring an iPhone is the dream of all gadget freaks as it has features that makes life simpler and connect the world at your touch.

For a phone that comes with a 4 inch display and is fully touch sensitive, covers or cases are almost a necessity for its protection. Like the iPhone which has taken a leap in the area of phones to become one of the most coveted phones, the cases for iPhone have also been designed to match the class and quality of the product. What sets apart the cases for the iPhone is the variety in which these are available and the quality of the material they are made out of. The covers predominantly safe guard the iPhone from scratches and strain.
However in some cases the touch screen is exposed and this provides a problem for the safety issue. Cases also speak for fashion, and the ones in vibrant colors are the most popular ones. With soft plastic or other materials, these covers provide a strong grip for the phone and ensures that the iPhone stays safe.
Going a little overboard on the budget, one can also purchase cases for iPhone that comes in metals. The most costly ones would be diamond studded cases that are custom-made and are hence very costly. These cases are used by limited people as these exceed the cost of the phone itself.
iPhone users are spoilt for choice in terms of cases as there are options both in terms of material and type. Pouch covers are also a rage as these protect the iPhone with maximum effect. iPhone 4 cases are uniquely identified by the logo of the half-bitten apple on the outer side of the covers. These are the authentic cases for your iPhone.
Besides the iPhone 4 cases from apple one can also go on for cases from other manufacturers that are specially made for the iPhone. A phone that will completely mesmerize you with its smooth technology, impressive design and endless applications deserves a case that matches the product both in terms of quality and design. iPhone 4 cases are only one of the many accessories that can be used for the product. iphone 4 white

When any technology gadget has two colors one of the first questions that is always asked: "Is one color for men and the other for women?" The simple answer when it comes to the white iPhone 4 vs. the Black iPhone 4 is NO. In fact, many discussion boards and websites have looked in to this very thing. Although there is no hard evidence coming from Apple it seems that iPhone color is chosen more based on individual taste than gender specific guidelines.

There was a questionnaire on Macforum.com that asked iPhone users to state what color iPhone they have and what their gender was. The questionnaire had some surprising results.
  • Male with Black iPhone: 106 people or 53.54%
  • Male with White iPhone: 72 people or 36.36%
  • Female with Black iPhone: 10 people or 5.05%
  • Female with White iPhone: 10 people or 5.05%

Although this survey is not scientific by any means, it does give us some insight. Men were more likely to have a black iPhone than a white iPhone but women were just as likely to have either (although this is from a significantly smaller sample size). Surveys on other websites returned much the same results but in most cases even women chose the black iPhone over the white iPhone. When asked which color iPhone 4 do you want the results were still consistent.
The bottom line is that both men and women actually prefer the black iPhone the white. With the iPhone 3G and 3Gs both white and black models were offered and the black constantly out sold the white. The same is true for Google searches when a new iPhone is going to be released. Early on, when both the black and white iPhone 4s were going to be released, average monthly Google searches for black iPhone 4 far outpaced that for white iPhone 4. Black iPhone 4 had 2,900 searches while the white iPhone 4 had 10% of that at 260. Across the board, both male and female, black iPhones are more popular than their white brethren. The fact that seems to get lost most is that these are white and black iPhones not pink and black iPhones. If that were the case there would probably be a much more pronounced gender preference.
When multiple people were asked which color iPhone they wanted the answers were never uniform based on gender:
"I'm going to get the white iPhone 4 because it has a clean look to it and I hear finger smudges won't show up as much." -Trent Pirillo
"I like the black iPhone 4 for its slick design. The chrome looks much better on black than it does on white." -Julie Hodge
"I have the black one because it is already out and I don't have to wait for it. I don't care about the color because I put a cover on my iPhone anyways." -Paul Bowman
It is hard to tell whether the iPhone color is a gender thing. From interviews and online surveys it does not seem that gender has anything to do with the color iPhone that a person picks. What is very apparent is that the majority of people like the black iPhone over the white iPhone. When "The White" does finally come out it would be interesting for Apple to release gender specific statistics. Give a choice which would you choose?
