verizon iphone

Apple and Verizon recently announced the launch of the much awaited iPhone for the Verizon network. This new iPhone, whilst looking exactly the same as the iPhone 4 has had a couple of minor changes made to it. What do these changes mean for those people wanting to purchase accessories for their new Verizon iPhone, and in particular for those people wishing to move from the AT&T network to Verizon?

Differences Between the iPhone 4 and the New iPhone for the Verizon Network
First, let us look at the changes that Apple have made to the Verizon iPhone. According to a number of blogs and websites the new iPhone is exactly the same as the iPhone 4 except for a minor repositioning of the external antenna and the slight relocation of the Mute and On/Off buttons. The antenna changes have resulted in the repositioning of the gaps between the external antennas (a new gap has appeared just above the Mute button) and the volume buttons, whilst still on the left hand side, have been moved ever so slightly down the phone (presumably to accommodate the antenna change).
Can You Use iPhone 4 Cases on the Verizon iPhone?
Most likely not is the simple answer. Whilst the repositioning of the external antenna will probably have minimal impact the relocation of the Mute and On/Off buttons will. Most of the cases being designed and manufactured at the moment are precision made and therefore have been designed to exactly fit the external features of the iPhone 4.
The slight change in the positioning of the external buttons will mean that cases designed for the iPhone 4 will not fit the new iPhone designed for the Verizon network. In particular iPhone 4 cases that have separate holes for the Mute and On/Off buttons will certainly not fit the Verizon iPhone.
iPhone 4 cases that have a full opening to accommodate the Mute and On/Off buttons may fit the new iPhone however, do not be surprised if the case does not fit perfectly. Owners of leather pouches and flip-cases looking to purchase the Verizon iPhone should be unaffected.
When Will the New Cases be Available?
A number of iPhone case suppliers have announced that they will be modifying their iPhone 4 case designs to take into account the subtle changes. These cases will be available from 11 February 2011 to coincide with the release of the much anticipated Verizon iPhone.
If you are about to purchase the Verizon iPhone, or are moving from the AT&T network to Verizon, then check out GET iPhone Case for a wide range of Verizon iPhone cases and other accessories.

free android apps

Mobile phones work well as pocket fit PCs because the Android OS is extremely flexible and is based on Linux Kernel. Smart apps can be easily created without having to code through complex procedures and are lucrative enough too. Many software development companies have taken the plunge in mobile app development and trying to provide cost-effective app development services.

Mobile app development is a critical process and it requires a developer's innovative skills and experience to create wonderful apps. The developers need to be constantly on their toes to understand client requirements and also know about the capabilities of a platform in its latest version. Android Application development is ruling the roost although there is immense competition in the field from the other players: iOS4 and Symbian to name a few. Alternatively, there are thousands of mobile app development companies who offer users great sites to download free Android apps in different categories.
Some of the main reasons for the success of the Android OS:
With an open source platform, the developers can concentrate on clientele needs without having to worry about the cost involved or the complexity involved in developing apps
The SDK is quite superb and easy to use for an average developer
Stable and secure OS, the best in the industry and the UI is smooth and seamless in operation with very less chances of crashes
Porting of the app is hassle free
The investment involved with Android App development is low, thanks to it being open-source. This helps the ROI factor and the ever-increasing App store from where users can even download free Android apps. The apps prove profitable in terms of multiple buys and clickable ads which generate revenue.
Why Android application development?
Cost-effective because it is open source
Let your imagination wild on Android SDK for developing creative apps
C/C++ and Java programming languages used for development which makes it easy for developers who have worked
previously in these technologies
Replicated code can be used to create multiple apps of similar types
Focus on clientele needs more than the complexity of development
Performance stability and security is great due to presence of Linux kernel in the platform
Porting of apps is hassle-free and the investment and time involved is comparatively lower than other apps created in other technologies
Quick and precise info can be found
Get your apps created through a professional Android application developer and be careful while hiring anyone. Hiring an inexperienced developer or a mobile app development company can lead to total disaster!

new iphone

After months of speculation Apple have finally unveiled their new iPad 3, the third tablet device developed by the company. One of the attractions of this new unit is the excellent A5X processor but it seems that this impressive chip may not be used on the iPhone 5 as many of us expected.

The new A5X chip was announced on the 7th March 2012 with claims that it is four times faster at graphic processing than the quad core Nvidia Tegra 3 chip. There are claims however that this new chip is not ideal for smartphone use and is therefore unlikely to be used in the new iPhone 5. Smartphone consumers tend to place more value on the battery performance of a device rather than its graphics capabilities. For this reason Apple are likely to opt for a more power efficient alternative for use in their new smartphone. The excellent graphics processing available on the A5X is not required on the new iPhone because the pixel density is lower on the larger screened iPad devices and therefore extra processing is required in order to maintain an excellent quality of image. It is more likely that Apple will chose to utilise a more efficient 28nm chip design rather than the 40nm variety that is used on the current iPhone 4S.
Whatever chipset is used in the new iPhone 5 there is no doubt that the model will become one of the smartphone successes of 2012. There is no doubt that battery life on this new model will be improved after the well documented problems that the iPhone 4S has encountered in this area. The new processor will help by placing less demand on the battery capacity that is available. This new mobile device is likely to feature NFC technology for the first time. This new short range wireless technology will enable consumers to pay for products with the device by storing debit card information on the phone. NFC also has a number of other uses including the easy transfer of media and interaction with NFC tags to automatically alter the settings on the phone. It looks likely that Apple will continue with the use of a glass body on this new phone but we can expect a brand new design along with a much slimmer profile thanks to the use of the new Gorilla Glass 2 which is thinner than the first generation of the material.
Only time will tell whether Apple will chose to use the new A5X chip in the iPhone 5 but it does seem likely that the developers will explore the use of an alternative chip which offers more in the way of power efficiency. When this model is launched later in 2012 we can expect to see a striking new design along with some excellent features such as NFC.
The iPhone 5 is coming soon and the iPhone 4S is available now.

Don't Let Your iPhone Go Uncovered! 3 Tips To Keep It Protected
It isn't a matter of "if," it's a matter of "when." If you bring your iPhone with you everywhere you go, you really ought to be investing in some protective gear for it. Not all protection is the same. We'll walk you through some of the options of various cell phone accessories for the iPhone so you can make the right choice to keep your most valuable tool safe.

Cover your corners.
Don't get iPhone cases unless they have extra padding and protection on the corners. Why is this important? The majority of drop tests show that most iPhones end up landing on a corner when dropped. With the extra corner protection, your iPhone is likely to last a lot longer.
Protect the screen.
Unlike the new iPad, the iPhone 3Gs screen isn't nearly as scratch resistant. You'll want to get a thin film to put over it. That way, when your iPhone brushes up against your car keys or whatever else is lurking inside your pockets, it won't get all scratched up. These iPhone covers may not help you keep your iPhone in perfect condition, but they will definitely help.
Get a hard case.
Sure, you can get an iphone leather case, but it won't do a thing to absorb some of the shock heading its way when you drop your iPhone on concrete. When the iPhone impacts the ground, hard cases help preserve it much better than their softer cousins. Don't take any chances. Give yourself a better shot at keeping your iPhone protected for that fatal, yet inevitable, mistake.
The iPhone is built to last and take the abuse of being in your pocket. It's a great device on its own, but you can get much more use out of it when you follow these simple rules. Good luck and keep on doing the most with the world's favorite portable phone!

android 3.0 tablet

Apple changed the world of communication and personal computing by introducing the iPad and this started a battle for the best products in the tablet space and today the front-runners in the market are the iOS and the Android tablets. The Android platform saw increasing adoption by the tablet manufacturers like Samsung, LG, Motorola and others which encouraged more and more developers to develop applications for the Android platform. Android tablets have been gradually increasing their market share and this was led by the flagship Samsung Galaxy Tab. The battle ground has clearly shifted from the smart phone space to the tablet space as it promises much more than a smart phone can offer. Few keys reasons that have tilted the game in the favor of the Android tablets are lack of USB port, camera and flash on the iPad. Given below are the 3 most popular Android 3.0 tablets. These are the tablets which you should consider before you finalize the choice of your tablet. The products are not ranked and have been listed based on their release dates.

Motorola Xoom
Motorola delayed its entry to the tablet space but was the first to bring out a tablet powered by Android 3.0. Android 3.0 or the Honeycomb operating system (OS) is the first OS designed for the big screen thus enabling a smooth transition of the android platform from the smart phones to the tablet world. The tablet offers 2 cameras one with a 5 MP resolution in the rear for standard image and video capture and a 2 MP resolution at the front for video chats. However the advantage that Xoom has of being the first Android 3.0 tablet is overshadowed by the price of this tablet. The reason for its high price tag is due to the high-end hardware specifications available in the tablet.
Toshiba Tablet
Toshiba, which is better known for its television products, has launched an Android 3.0 tablet recently. The company has used the graphics technology which powers its television sets in its tablets and this is what makes the graphics experience on this tablet stand apart from the rest. Apart from graphics the positives here are HDMI support, USB and a SD card slot. These ports do tend to make the product a bit bulky but Toshiba has compensated for that with an aggressive pricing. If you decide to buy this tablet, though you do not get the sleek and light design of an iPad, but you do get an affordable product with a number of positive additional features.
Samsung Galaxy Tab
Samsung was an early mover in the tablet space and ensured that it provided features such as a camera, USB and flash support in its products. The original Samsung galaxy tab established itself as a reference model for all other Android tablets that followed. Samsung recently launched the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 which is powered by Android 3.0. The distinct feature of the product is its 2 cameras, an 8 MP camera for photos and videos and a 2 MP camera in the front to support video calling.

Android Honeycomb is the current Google Android OS. It is designed only for tablets and is therefore optimized with even more features and benefits than you would normally find on a regular smartphone running on Froyo or Gingerbread.
The Honeycomb has received a dramatic improvement compared to Gingerbread in several aspects. One of the most obvious examples is enhanced applications in Honeycomb. Many of the native apps on Android have been completely rethought and enhanced, such as the email, browser, android market, Google Talk, and YouTube.

  • Email. The email apps (both Gmail and everything else) use a two-pane system. So it makes perusing your inbox and various folders much easier. Moreover these apps use a new API open to all devs called "fragments" which allow for sliding panes. This means the left pane starts out listing all available folders for that email account, but when you choose something from the panel on the right side, that then slides over to the left and replaces the folder list. Consequently on the right side, now I can see the entire email thread or full chat that I requested pull up, and I can see the whole conversation.

  • Browser. The biggest enhancement is tabbed browsing. You don't need to press a menu button within the browser to see all of the open windows. They're just presented like the Chrome browser on your computer, with the Action Bar showing off multiple tabs that you can switch to rather easily.

  • Android Market. "My apps" section shows a listing of all apps you've downloaded, updated and/or installed. You can dictate whether the apps will have updates automatically installed, and you can open each individual app directly from this section. This listing of My Apps also notices if any updates are available, keeps me apprised of download/install progress, and is easy to scroll through.
  • Google Talk. The integration of native video chat and Google Talk app makes it more convenient and accessible for anyone to use it. Even if you have a tablet and your business partner doesn't, just have them sign on to Google Talk on their computer and you're all set for a good video chat.
  • YouTube. The YouTube app was built with Renderscript, and it's easy to tell because of the extra 3D renderings done up here. The app is set up like a grid with several rows and columns, but when you scroll left or right this grid curves with the scrolling, acting as if it's on a carousel.
With its enhanced applications, Honeycomb has been the biggest leap Android has taken in its growth and development ever since the OS came out. It has made Android much smarter in the process. As a result, Honeycomb will make Android tablets much more competitive with the iPad than existing Android devices running earlier versions of the Android software.
